Blog changes and some animal life

I spent a very large part of Sunday updating and making some changes to my blog.  Many thanks to Rae for her expertise and vast knowledge and very reasonable rates.  For those of you who kept asking me over that past year, you can now subscribe by email so you get each new post delivered directly to you mailbox.  Check out the link at the top right of the page.  Yes that is a search this blog box, not sure if you will use it much but I certainly will  😉  One other noticeable change to you is that you no longer have to fill in the Captcha Code box which will make it easier to comment.  Plus…..

You can click on the small box under your comment if you would like to receive my comment back to.  You also can click on the green subscribe link and follow any comments without actually commenting.  Lots of choices and of course you can just make a comment and not click anything at all other than Submit Comment.

I am being invaded by these ??? First a white butterfly lays eggs and then they hatch ( and if I don’t find them ) they grow into these worm things who hatch into white butterflies that come and lay very tiny yellow eggs and the cycle starts all over again…. sigh!

So if I want to have kale ( they don't eat the swiss chard at all ) in my smoothies which we finally started today then I have to do a critter patrol every morning.

Let me know what you think of my blog changes.  Is there anything else you want me to change or have suggestions about?

Nancy…we miss you both here on the Isla, but on the other hand Puerto Escondido is a great place to be. Wish that the were better RV parks there. See you somewhere down the road.

Jean…so good to hear from you from way out there in the boonies. Glad you were good with the captcha thingy.

Rae…thanks so much for following us to the Isla and even better for being here to help me and the blog.

Janet…happy that you have checked in…enjoy your new surroundings.

Rod..Rae has been a ray of sunshine. Thanks for keeping in touch.

Peter…they are very lucky girls. Just think, you might not be in my bed but you could be parked right next door to us in your RV. Hope to see you here one year in the near future.

Looks good Contessa , although I never minded the captcha sign in.

  4. Rae says:

Glad I could help! If your readers have any more suggestions for blog improvements (mine sure are vocal about them *g*), please them on!

Love the photo of the girls in bed! New changes are great.

  6. I won’t miss the Captcha Code. It’s nice to have someone around to keep things current on the blog side. Good that Rae is in the neighbourhood.

  7. Peter says:

Man oh man, those are two lucky doggies!

  8. Nice that you were able to get your blog up to date, and still enjoy Happy Hour with Larry and Mar.

    Your catcha code hated me!!!!

  10. Contessa says:

George, getting the blog updated was a huge thing. I had someone in Kelowna who was supposed to be doing it but apparently wasn’t it.

Shelagh, I am happy to make your life easier 🙂

  11. Marty says:

I like the changes, wish were in Mazatlan with you. I’m well, just have to pay off the medical bills and we’ll be back.

  12. Contessa says:

Thank you Marty. So glad to hear that you are feeling better after that horrid experience. Soon you will be back here in Mazatlan enjoying the sun and doing all those fun things you and Stan like to do.

I sympathize with your cabbage worm fight. I have the same problem at home and spray with an organic spray called Safer’s BTK. A couple of years ago we had a tent caterpillar infestation and if I hadn’t sprayed every day they would have eaten the leaves off every plant in my very extensive perennial garden. Always something trying to eat something!

  14. Contessa says:

Thanks Kathy for IDing the culprit. Today is the first day I didn’t find any but at least now I know where and what to look for. The first few weeks I had no idea what was eating my kale. Im not much of produce gardener.
