The rest of the weekend…

…passed very quickly.  Sunday morning after coffee & fruit we wondered over to Pizza Benji’s for brunch.

Heriberto played several pieces, Colin played a few and then Isela sang.  A bit later Isela and Heriberto sang together, always special to hear.  We were treated to an impromptu concert by Jon, a fellow RVer from Ontario, Canada.  Our Culiacan family really enjoyed his playing and singing.  It was great for them to be able to sit back and enjoy.

Jon later turned his chair and took centre stage. Colin backed him up with his guitar. We are a musical bunch.

Later Heriberto gave Colin a bit of a music lesson while Isela and I relaxed.

Soon it was time for dinner.  The boys had gone into Mazatlan and just as dinner was served they appeared.  I had no idea that dinner was going to be served at 9:30PM so how did they know???

Both the beans and the salmon were a success!

I truly have no recollection of serving dessert outside at the fire. I took this photo so I know I was there. Hopefully we didn't disturb the neighbors, it was close to midnight before the dishes were done.

I started the breakfast prep about 9AM, we ate inside about noonish! The weather here is so chilly that to set up outside was too big of a risk! Yummy hotcakes as they say here in Mexico. We have always called them pancakes.

They left about 2:30PM Monday, back to Culiacan, leaving us to reflect on the fast pace of the past several days.  It was a very busy time, hard to believe that we packed so much in but very rewarding.  Now to just sit and relax a bit…..

  1. Sounds like a wonderful time, so busy, its nice that you have the pictures and the Blog to remember most of the details.

Wow, I wish I had been there! It all sounds so wonderful. When I was younger, my father would play his accordian and all of the family would gather round in a circle and sing. It was truly magical. I love music, in fact it was one of the conditions I put on my husband about moving to Nayarit. I must have a piano in my house. He did not fail me. Sitting in my unfinished house, probably full of dust (it hurts my heart to think of it), is my oldie but goodie upright piano. I hope you continue to have these “magical” gatherings because they bring good memories you will not be prone to forget.

Congratulation to quality of your blog. Nice photos, notices and chronicles. It is a excellent work because human, humorous and literary texts (Contessa), and professional images (Colin) are to first quality this internet resource.
We were very happy and very fine attention by Jewall family, our friends.
    Greetings and wises.
