Just before sunset for a few days in a row we have had Mamma and Poppa Goose bringing their 6 children up to our lawn for dessert.

We send Caeli out to scare them off. She gives chase and barks at the same time. The geese moved so fast I almost missed the shot.

This goes on for a few evenings in a row.

Finally Colin goes out with Caeli and throws a small rock at them.

"Don't come back" he tells them and they don't.

We’ve been goose free for a week now but they still swim past and crane their necks to see if we are watching.

On 239 when defending the and beach I found using the hose on full blast worked well especially when I snuk up to them unnoticed and blasted them. A mere -1 to make it 99% paradise. K

I don’t think it would be possible for us to sneak up on them here. They would see us come out of the house immediately.

With a goose problem, you would think it to be a popular meat. I know it’s a bit greasy but still . . .

The thing of late is to addle the eggs in the spring and it seems to be working. Those is the know says within 20 years we won’t have anymore of these geese. They are not natural to the area by the way.

  3. They are resilient. The second you two turn your back on them – they will be back. I love them but they sure are pesky, especially to nice yards.

They are lovely to watch glide by on the water and as they fly overhead but pesky indeed. So far no return visits.

  4. Those geese can sure be a nuisance and make a mess, good luck with keeping them away.
