This is what Colin saw when he got home in the early afternoon. The tray on the right with a yellow card, compliments of a neighbor, contained 4 different pieces of out of this world cake. We enjoyed a taste of each later in the evening.
We had us a wee happy hour.
Then he slowly opened his cards and the emails I had printed out and the few small gifts that I had bought him. The flower basket was a complete surprise. We had no idea who it was from until Colin opened the card. It was from my Dad and my brother. Turning 65 is pretty special but this surprise was overwhelming.
Caeli from her perch on the sofa was merely interested in getting a piece of lox.
Of course Carmeh wanted some as well. As you can see the appies disappeared rather rapidly.
I danced with Carmeh for a bit.
There was even more dancing in the kitchen 🙂
Teasing the girls with pieces of romaine as we made our dinner. They love the spines.
Smooches in the kitchen.
Dancing with the stars.

The best ever lemon meringue pie. Sadly only one sparkler would light! Just the 6, not the 5. Wonder if there is a message there.

Nice birthday celebration. Happy Birthday Colin.
Happy belated birthday Colin. It looks like you had a great time.
What a great celebration, nice that you can take time off work.
What a lovely celebration.
That was especially touching of your brother.
Cheers to Colin !
Looks like a special day. Happy Birthday!
Belated Happy Birthday to Colin. The pie brought back memories – Mom would bake me lemon or cherry pie for my birthday as I like pie best – how I miss her and that….nothing like homemade lemon pie!
