I am thankful
Three kayaks and a canoe out for an early morning paddle on our very calm lake. Interesting that they were all wearing life jackets. For a moment I was sad. I have never been in our canoe ( we only got it a year ago ). Colin and the girls did go out last summer but I was away in Edmonton with my Dad for about 3 months. We only used our kayaks once last summer and not once this year (yet ). You see, when the conditions are perfect on our lake, they are also perfect for Colin to go do all the jobs that have been piling up. He is known for producing those perfect photographic masterpieces and so of course when the conditions are right he has to go. I do know that one day we will have the time to paddle to our hearts content. It’s just that sometimes I wish it was our turn today.
Meanwhile I am happy to be able to simply observe. We are so fortunate to live where we do. How can I complain as we live a perfect life both here and in Mexico on the Isla.
I am thankful that we still have our perfect home. Sadly 31 homes have been lost in the last 48 hours due to the fires just south of us. Thanks to the heroic efforts of the firefighters it was such a low number. No news yet on the RV Park but a possibility that all was not lost. The fires are not contained but there have been serious efforts made and the weather is cooperating. I just now read that one of our ski resorts, Big White has a wildfire burning near it. Will it ever stop? I am thankful that we have been spared.
Colin has just arrived home as I write this. Part of his day was to take photos for one of the largest housing developments here in Kelowna. This included some dangerous footwork.
I am thankful that that is Colin’s job and not mine 😆 I am also thankful that Carmeh managed her second walk today with no issues other than lots and lots of time 😎 I have nothing but time for her right now. The lake paddle can wait.

Yes your day will come, no where to go and nothing to do that is urgent, just go with the flow.
Enjoy your time with Carmeh.
Maybe you guys need to go if you ever get a cloudy day:) We have been blessed with rain about once a week lately so no smoke here right now at all. Those poor people, so many homes gone. I can’t even imagine what that would be like. Glad Colin can finally take some pictures though – it must be difficult when things back up like that.
Things always seem to work out. Beautiful blue sky. I wish I were sitting in the recliner in front of the window. It’s a good spot. Miss you guys.
