Change of plan…

….we did not leave today.  Fortunately our site here at Lake Havasu State Park was open for another night and we nabbed it.  Very relaxing here and being on the water with many trails to explore made the decision to stay another day very very easy.  We are still on schedule for crossing into Mexico on Friday.  We were both worn out from our hectic pace south and this seemed like a great place to relax….well not quite.

I was still in my nightie when Colin got things underway. He was spending a lot of time re doing things the RV tech did ( but not too well ) that he was doing becuasr of the reno. I told Colin that he should just do it all himself. Wouldn't that be nice but we can't afford to do that, better tohire someone to do the work which Colin is shooting.

The girls were happy to hang around as it was a tad cool outside. Caeli is laying on a pile of dog blankets piled between to sofa and the recliner. She was slowly sinking into the crack.

Break time for the worker and his trusty dog Carmeh.

Great trail with a mix of vegetation and lake views.

The girls loved it. I was worried about Carmeh but she did very well and did not show any sign of being tired. I think this is the longest walk she has done since mid May. Great for her and us of course. Looking forward to seeing how she will do on the beach on the Isla.

Just off the trail, there is a Xeriscape Garden with dozens of examples of local plants. Lovely area indeed and wheelchair friendly.

Loved this cacti, very unusual but a local plant.

Once we resumed the trail, we came upon a diversion, lake access with dogs allowed.

Because of Carmeh we head back as we didn't want to wear her out. We could do the trial with the stroller but she truly enjoyed being all four on the ground with all the sniffs to check out.

Great roadrunner shot if I say so myself :)

Back at the RV Colin resumed more tasks and despite it being after noonish, I started a yogurt for breakfast.  Finally finished it a few hours later 😯  Colin was cleaning our fantastic fans and discovered that the one in the bedroom ( we have three ) was not working.  I came up with the idea of calling the company and having a new one shipped out.  By the time we sorted out where to have it shipped and to what address, close to an hour had passed.  Thank goodness I had signed us up for a Telus cell plan where we get 250 minutes for $50.00 for the month.  The info I needed for shippping was in the desktop and that was stored away.  So we pulled that out and then we had to set up our Magic Jack to call friends to check on their actual address, as our cell was tied up to the Fantastic Fan company 🙄   It was like a gong show.  Long story short, we are having a new fan motor and other parts shipped out within 2 days for $60.00 US, total cost. Free shipping is a full week and we needed our parts by end of day Thurday  We can only hope that UPS will come through for us.  So what, that the RV looked like a wreck with things strewn everywhere, we will have a fan in the bedroom.  A priority in my opinion.

I then had another matter to sort out that took just over 30 minutes between being on hold on the cell and chatting online which did not work as their system was down.  Not a totally relaxing day but we did get a lot accomplished while in a great location.  Most of the to do’s got crossed off the list.

Just after 3:30PM, I said enough is enough and went out to relax. Colin worked a tad more and then packed it in and pulled out his guitar.

Tomorrow is another day…who knows what it will bring.  Thanks again for your comments and your emails.  I appreciate them all.

Glad you’re enjoying a bit of a break! Your schedule really is a lot like mine was, with a mad dash south, a break, and then the Friday crossing.

“better to hire someone to do the work while Colin is out doing his photography”

Totally! I always have that debate with myself when I decide to pay someone to do something I could do myself. What is my time worth? It just sucks when you hire someone else and their work is shoddy.

You caught a roadrunner on camera! Wow! I was sure folks were pulling my leg when they told me those things are real! It’s like you got a picture of Bigfoot!

Our 2300 mile trip to the southwest is exhausting, so I totally know how you feel.

That State Park looks like a gem – enjoy your time there. When you get time will you please tell me where you bought the chair you are sitting in as you relax at the end of your day. Hope they have something close to that at Camping World which we will check out tomorrow. Continued traveling mercies for you.

These photos make me go “aaaahhh…” Relaxation, sand, sunshine, and vino on the end table! Nice pitstop indeed! I adore that picture of Colin and Carmeh, and you look like Audrey Hepburn sauntering down the path in those capris and sun hat. 😉 Enjoy your basking…
