I finally found my Christmas spirit
Seriously Christmas was almost a no show. I was done and had no energy to push on. Thank goodness for Franco Fetes on the Shaw satellite system. FYI, I only do Christmas in French, that is how I was brought up. I sang in the church choir and honestly Christmas is French for me. Last Sunday after the rain stopped, the fireworks and loud firecrackers started. It was Dec. 12th and the Virgin de Guadalupe day. Carmeh went ballistic, she actually jumped off the sofa….I screamed but she did not hurt her back. On went her Thundershirt as well as channel 942 on the Shaw music station at top volume. The music started to melt my heart a titch. We have spent so much time redoing our set up and relaxation that I/we were done. We discussed not setting up Christmas this year. I agreed but was torn, I have always had Christmas since I was born. Christmas to me and us is lights and a few special decorations and music. Colin who does not have a French background prefers the French music to the English.
Okay, so tonight has been over the top including the tears but I am alright now and ready to move on. Don’t feel bad for me, I needed to express and am happy that we went ahead with Christmas. It had been a fragile few days but I am ready to move forward. Thank you all for being there for me. Hugs to you all.
Special hugs to Colin, he has supported me through so much over the last five years. It is now 9PM local time and I really need to stop and make us some dinner.
Joyeux Noel!

Joyeux Noel to you and Colin and the girls too! Thanks for always being so open and honest. The Christmas lights look lovely…..I can feel your spirit soaring, slowly……
Ditto the above post! Love the photos and your spirit – beautiful! Joyeux Noel!
I’m glad you got your mourning in for this Christmas. It is natural and necessary. Been there, done that. Now start thinking what you can do next year as a new tradition. Maybe a French happy hour to celebrate your heritage. Is there an orphanage or something like it there you can visit and plan something special for them? Or homeless shelter that needs some French goodies?
Nice that you go over the hurdle and are set up to celebrate Christmas. You will feel much better for it and to carry on your tradition.
Merry Christmas, Colin and Contessa. We hope it continues to be a special day for you and your family.
Feliz Navidad – Merry Christmas – Joyeux Noel
Merry Christmas C&C. In this year of firsts it’s one more hurdle done. The coach looks great!
Contessa, I am so glad you found your Christmas spirit because you have motivated me to find mine. Your decorations look beautiful and I love your two angels cradling a dog in their arms.
Joyeux Noel to you, Colin, Caeli and Carmeh.
Merry, Merry Christmas, looks very MERRY at your place!! Now that all the water has drained away, heh? I have some of those angels, they are so sweet…
I am so glad you found Christmas this year – Joyeux Noel!
