Hitting the road and heading south
FYI, this is the second post within 12 hours.
We are off early this morning. Happy to be traveling south through this area on a Saturday and hopefully we will avoid huge amounts of traffic. Sadly I won’t be able to complete the winery tours before I leave. Oh I did edit my photos and once again just too much to put into a post at the last moment. Don’t worry, I will catch up, too many wonderful experiences not to share. We spent Friday doing some RV chores and last minute grocery and wine shopping.
We shopped at both Trader Joe’s and Whole Foods, a first for us. How lucky all you Americans are to have such wonderful stores near you. I would love to live near great sources of tasty and good for you food at such low prices. Of course I happened on a wine deal at Whole Foods. Suzanne you might want to check this out. Quail Creek has a wine bottled in Napa and it is $4.99 per bottle but today in was on at 30% off so I only paid $3.50 plus tax per bottle. I purchased both the Sauvignon Blanc and the Pinot Grigio and have only had the latter thus far. Not bad for the price.
I leave you today with some scenes from our days here in Napa Valley.
A special welcome to longtime reader Marie who has eaten at Taqueria Maria over the years when she visits her daughter who lives nearby. Thank you for your comment and nice to know that you are enjoying my Napa trip.

We our old cheddar but the price is getting pretty high, we usually buy a 3-5 yr old that is pretty good.
That is some burrito!
Travel safe.
WOW! Napa seems to have swapped their tasting prices for their bottle prices! haha! I’ve never heard of such a bargain on wine! Unfortunately, coming through Nevada into southern Utah, it will be days before I see a Trader Joes or Whole Foods again, but when I do, I’ll check it out! Thanks!
Yum, decent Mexican food is something I miss. Just FYI if you are ever in Victoria they just opened a Whole Foods location there in an upscale shopping centre (one of our clients is opening a store in the same Mall which is why it came to our attention)
Just dropping in to let you know I love all of your pics and the ones from your previous posts.
Contessa, I love the expression on your face when you see that HUGE burrito. 🙂
Safe travels!
Contessa, now that is one huge burrito! You could feed three people with that thing! Your expression says it all. Also, earlier, when Colin took a bite of his pizza in the market, you could see the delight and contentment on his face. In the USA, we are accused of over-sizing our food portions; but one could always bring home a doggie bag, which seems to have become a custom here.
