The patio project
First off, some comments from me to your comments or emails. The decrease in temperature in not a problem unlike Arizona and California, in fact it is a blessing making this truly paradise. It is a normal decrease which usually happens earlier in November so we are all happy, well except for the locals who are finding it cool which is normal for them.
Cheapchick asked if we were thinking about moving here once Colin retires. No, not at all. We love our home in Kelowna and will always have that as our home base. We plan to travel the world once the girls are gone and of course still travel here to our beloved Mexico and not only the Isla. Colin will never permanently retire and so we will always spend several months of each year in Canada.
Chris asked how the newly paved road has affected life on the Isla. It hasn’t as far as we have seen to date. Very few RV’s stopping in to check out the RV Park. The only thing we have noted is that there are about 80% less vehicles on the beach. It seems that most are using the road including the tractors. So many times on our daily walks we never see anyone else nor a vehicle including ATV’s. It is great for us. I will make a point of checking with some of the restaurants and merchants and will let you know.
The patio project came about as the carpet we have used for the last 5 years was getting very dirty and worn despite our power washing, etc. Before we left last April it found a good home with a local who was overjoyed to have it.

It looks beautiful!
Looks pretty sharp!
Damn C&C, that looks awesome! What a bright lively spot!
The patio looks really nice and cheery!! and like the bricks bordering it to keep out the gravel, bet it will be a lot cleaner that way.
Gorgeous home away from home!!!!
Awesome!
And now for the fish in yesterday’s post – could it possibly be a trigger fish? They actually have teeth.
Awesome paint and like the bricks. Good color combination.
The patio looks great! Nice job to you both.
Ruth
Very, very PERKY – love your colorful outside room!!!!
Looking good.
Looks great! Love the yellow (but based on my kitchen, not a surprise). The brick edging is exactly what it needed to look finished.
Great job on the patio. I can see many dinner parties in the future. Love the area carpet!

Welcome the comment section of my blog Janet.
We are spending the winter at Tres Amigos RV Park on Stone Island which is located just across the shipping channel from Mazatlan. There is a paved road that comes here ( except for 1/2 mile ), it is off the road to the Mazatlan Airport. I am happy top answer any questions you have.
The owner of the park is David Perez. His email is David Perez and his cell number is 669 994 8766 and he speaks English.
It’s really beautiful! Certainly shows that a lot of planning went into what has become a welcome adjunct and entertainment ‘room’ to your RV for the winter. Each year gets better. Have you always had the end spot so that you can have such a layout?
Welcome to the blog Barbara, nice to have you here.
The first year that we were here we were in RV2, further down the beach and in the 3rd Row. The second year we were in RV1, this park, but three sites over in a higher rent private lease site. The end unit came available and we were 11th on the wait list. Every one ahead of us turned it down. We had the vision and here we are. Each and every plant and tree on this site were planted by us. Somehow we have ended up with a wonderful site that is a tad wider than the others. We do have to deal with the dust from the road next to us but our dust screen helps us cope somewhat.
I’ve been lurking with you for maybe three years, so I’m kinda well-versed about Tres Amigos and Mazatlan via your blog. You make it seem like a wonderful area. Through you, I now ‘follow’ several bloggers who stop off in Maz, as well as other folks who winter elsewhere in Mexico–or go globe-trotting in Europe!
Looks great. Makes our new gravel look dull. Maybe I should add some flowers. See you tomorrow nite.
Gracias. 7PM at the Plazuela.
It is paradise for sure-EH!
Thanks for the update on the road. Your patio looks fantastic!!!!!
Awesome, love the look!!
