Smoking hot meter

Fortunately someone walking past our site saw smoke coming out of our meter.

Colin immediately pulled our RV power from the post.  We notified the park manger who called the park owner, David.  Within 20 minutes we had an electrician on site to do the necessary repairs.  I don’t think we would get such great service in either a Canadian or US RV Park.  Meanwhile as I was in the midst of cooking for my happy hour we turned on the generator.

It appears that the problem was a short in the meter likely caused by corrosion. Whatever the reason things melted. We are so very fortunate that someone saw the smoke and told us. We could have had a very different outcome.

Within 40 minutes we were back to normal.  We are so very fortunate to have a hands on owner.

So our happy hour proceeded as planned.  FYI our happy hour went just over three hours.  Life is good here on the Isla.

  1. I agree, I don’t think you would have gotten such fast service in either Canada or the USA. Glad, it was noticed and fixed quickly.

A little too close to disaster. Glad it was spotted quickly.

The salt in the air will cause many things to corrode, nice that you got it fixed.
When we were in Bullhead city a few weeks ago our pedestal died on us as well and were lucky the maintenance guys were there and repaired it within an hour at 8am.
Those are pretty long Happy hours that you have there, but I guess you enjoy them.
