Problems with our flights!
We are still not home. All went well from Venice to Toronto except for the non stop crying of an infant right next to us. Boarding our fight to Vancouver was without incident and we endured 30 minutes of waiting before pushing off only to stop five minutes later re a mechanical incident. A repair was done. We were almost at the runway when we had another mechanical light come on. Eventually our flight was determined to be non flight worthy due to a malfunction re hydraulics and flaps. Several hours later we took off on another aircraft. The delay made us miss our final connection from Vancouver to Kelowna. We overnighted in Vancouver and are at the gate right now hoping to catch our final flight home. Fingers crossed………

Hoping you make it home without any more delays.
I never believe the “mechanical error lights” excuse. They sometimes find it more convenient to delay or cancel a flight to use the aircraft for another purpose. Factual. I have several friends who fly the friendly skies in both the U.S. and Canada. Rerouting and cancelling are common. What did they give you in comps? Just curious.
There would be no reason to cancel the flight unless it was a true mechanical problem. It is one of the few flights that goes across Canada daily and it was fully booked. While they found another flight everyone was given a voucher for $15.00 for dinner. When we missed our connection in Vancouver we were each given $32.00 for food and put up in a hotel for the night and booked on a flight for the next day.
My post should have read, “the U.S. and Mexico” and they are pilots and flight attendants.
soon you be there and all will be back to normal agin.
Hope all goes and u r home now, what a nightmare in travel! But adventure!!! And, goodness the memories u both have!!!
Hello happy travellers,
by now you are quite weary I would think. Just want to tell you how much we enjoyed all the picture that you and Colin took. It makes me want to pack a suitcase and take off for Venice. You saw a lot in such a short time. The scenery along the canal is gorgeous.
Can you really go by boat to the airport ?
We have been to Tuscany a few years ago. That was wonderful as well . We stayed in a 300 yrs . old house.
Wishing you a safe flight home. We were with you all the way.
Take care, all the best
