Snowbirds return
In the last two weeks, all the snowbirds who live here on Lake Lane have come home to roost. The last two arrived late Saturday. Of the nine couples, we are the only one to venture into Mexico. Most stay in Arizona and two spend the winter in Palm Springs. Soon ( if it warms up ) we will start getting together to compare the adventures & stories of the winter. We mostly all feel the same, we have a close group of friends here at Holiday Park Resort and another group we socialize with elsewhere for the winter season. Double the friends, double the fun and enjoyment.
…crumb…so now I was about to insert a photo here…but it is on the laptop computer and I am now working on the large desktop iMac. I am going to have to figure this out…Colin & I share both computers. We travel with the MacBook Pro laptop but when he is on the job he takes it with him. When we are both home (read working in the office), Colin uses the iMac and I the laptop. Hmmm, maybe I see my own personal laptop in the future! Do you read my blog sweetie?
A few days ago we were awoken by a loud rat a tat, rat a tat. It was a woodpecker waking up the neighbourhood by hammering on a steel pipe. As I listened I realized how different the sounds of the birds were from Mexico. Have you ever seen a duck in Mexico?
In addition to the snowbirds return, we are sighting more Canada Geese every day. They love to hang out on our lake, aptly named Duck Lake and to leave their ‘calling cards’ on the grass and patio at our beach site. Not my clean up job!!!!!!!
Did I mention our new neighbours, Donna & David, a very unique species of bird! They tend to hang out on their roof!!!

That looks like a nice spot that you’re at, but it looks like we both arrived in Canada a couple of weeks too soon! I have an aunt in Vernon, and an uncle in Prince George. Maybe we’ll head that way next summer.
You sent that snow our way! We’re supposed to get up to 9 inches in the mountains tonight.
We’ve been seeing a lot of eagles, ducks and geese too. And yesterday we had a crabapple tree full of cedar waxwings. I think you need your own laptop-I think the time is coming for me to get a new one, maybe something a bit smaller that I can take on the plane so I can blog about my trips right away.
Just saw on Facebook that Interstate 90 is closed because of so much snow and many wrecks. Some spring!!
Awe yes soon be nice, hopefully for us too. You only have one laptop? that would never go in our house! Cross the border tomorrow.
Marty, sorry about the snow.
George, only one laptop to travel with but a huge desktop iMac at home. While in Mexico Colin stays away from the puter!
Hi Contessa
I think we are all whining about the weather because there isn’t anything else we can do about it.
Think how warm it will feel when you get back to the Isla.
Yes, its darn cold here in Pt.Angelas and will be cold across the Ocean to Victoria and our home in Saratoga Beach, about 3 hrs. from Victoria.. We hope for a warm spring and a warmer summer..
