Yesterday was a special 75th birthday celebration for one of our RVers. Dave is the youngest 75 year old ever. Heck he paddle boards almost everyday not to mention all the other neat things that he does.
He invited at least 60 – 70 ( or more, I never counted ) of his friends.
In celebration of this special occasion Dave treated us all to dinner, drinks and a wonderful live band.
I can’t recall what we were singing but we were the backup chorus singers to the band!! Aha just sent an email to Audrey, second from the left and it turns out that we were singing Hallelujah. Gotta love internet.
That is me at the right edge of the photo and my margarita. Well one of them. Sometimes I can only drink one or two at the most but I will confess to four last night. What to do when a nice looking waiter comes by and offers you a drink? Please note the bottle of water beside my margarita, I drank a few of bottles along with my drinks as well as the melted ice cubes. Plus lots of dancing was involved. I can’t dance if I am tipsy 🙂 All was well and absolutely no side effects at all this morning. Must be all that dancing.
Dave was so happy and the band was perfect. Dave is an American from Utah but someone had pinned a Canadian pin on his shirt making him an honorary Canadian.
Happy 75th Dave. Note that the candles were 57! Love that logic.
Lots of dancing…..
Funny thing is that I told Colin as we walked over to Carmelita’s where the party was held, that I didn’t feel like dancing that night. Guess who was first up on the floor? Well they were playing one of my favorites, ‘Under the Boardwalk’. In this photo I am dancing with Feddie, the owner of one of the two larger stores on the Isla. At this point I had been dancing for a long time.
A great time was had by all.
Even the kitchen staff were dancing.
I can’t say enough about this band. They are called ‘la fusa grupo musical’. They play all types of music and have a huge repertoire. In fact most of last night was different music than what they had played in December.
Dave loves their music also which is why he hired them for his party.
Definitely best party ever. Some of the guests doing the singing.
Already today some RVers are talking about hiring the band ( perhaps 150 pesos/$10.00 CAD/ $8.00 USD ) per person. Fifty people would buy us three hours of music. All we have to do is get one of the restaurants to be willing to let us bring a band in and order our food and alcohol individually which won’t be a problem at all. Certainly a win win situation. Yes the music was that good.
Definitely the best party ever. Thank you Dave for creating such a very special evening for us. I can only hope that your birthday was as special to you as it was to all of your friends.
That is definitely a birthday party to remember. Looks like so much fun.
Awesome !

Happy 75th Dave! I wish you many, many more! Looks like it was a good time had by all.
