I mentioned in my last post that we were going to open a bottle of red wine for dinner last night. We don’t usually drink red but we have a lot of it in our wine cabinet which has been gifted to us over the years. Colin enjoys red but I prefer to drink white. I have come to enjoy the odd glass of red if it is of higher quality.
This is what Colin pulled out and opened. What a great wine. We both loved it. We have no idea where it came or who had given it to us.
So this morning I researched it.
Quite a high alcohol content and it won a medal in 2015.
I just about fell off my chair when I saw the price. Yes that is USD. Had I known that we were drinking the most expensive wine we have ever had I would have enjoyed it even more. Fortunately there is a glass each left in the bottle for tonight.
Thank you to whoever gifted this to us. I wonder what other secrets we have in here. Love my stained glass window. That is our bathroom on the other side of the wine cabinet.
Unusual sunset yesterday. The setting sun was reflecting off the mountains to the South. You can see how windy it was. For most of the day the lake had whitecaps.
This was from the other side of our home facing west. We love where we live, both here and in Mexico. We are so very fortunate to be able to live as we do.

I am glad your enjoyed that wonderful wine and did not waste it.
Can you imagine what might have happened to that bottle if we had not opened it. Glad we got to enjoy it.
It’s a good thing you enjoyed the wine, it would have been sad if it was no good at that price!
Exactly. I do think that we now have to check what we actually have stored in that area.
Oh my, that was a great gift, huh?
I wonder if they knew what they had passed on to us. Sometimes clients just gift Colin a bottle form their personal wine cellars. Not often but perhaps 3 -6 times per year.
