It was a great visit

Colin had a lot of quality one on one time with Mommio.  They both had a blast.  From all of the photos that I am now seeing it appears that most of their time was spent eating :-D. Wish I’d been there, I love eating out.

Colin always asked her where did she want to go?  This was their first night and they dined at the Lobster House.  She ate every bite on her plate.

She had pancakes for breakfast at the home. When Colin got there around 10AM she said that she wanted to go out for bacon and eggs.  Between them they ate all of that food.

Mommio loves to be driven around the city.  After an hour or so she said that she wanted a sundae.

Colin took her to a music store and bought her two harmonicas which she used to play.  He wanted to give her a musical outlet.   They walked the mall a bit but it was too much for her.  Eventually they ended up at the old CN hotel, the Fort Gary, her very favorite place.  She only goes there when Colin takes her.  He has been taking there every year for at least twenty years.  Some of the older staff still remember them.  You guessed it, they ate the entire cheese plate and drank all the wine.

Mommio and the hotel are the same age.

Mommio played Colin’s teeny travel guitar on his last day there.

It was difficult for him to leave her but he does have to work.  Well he had jobs all lined up but the smoke came in yet again this morning.  Hard to believe that it is September already but fall is in the air.  Leaves are already swirling off the trees.  It snowed yesterday at Big White Ski Resort, a local mountain just 35 miles SE of here.  Glad to say that we are leaving in about three weeks.  I have a hunch that winter is not going to be fun here this year.

Colin loves to joke around with Mommio, she could not stop laughing.  He is so happy to hear her still laughing.  He calls her everyday.

Such a fun post. Her face in every picture says it all.

Sure looks like they had a fun time together, great pictures and lotsa good food and laughs.
    Precious moments.

  5. Mommio definitely looks like she is keeping herself fit and enjoying Colin’s company. She truly does not look her age and looks like she could leas the entertainment committee at the Home. That would probably give her even more energy by keeping busy.
    Be Safe and Enjoy!

    It’s about time.

How very special! Mommie is certainly a wonder. My mother passed at 58 and Dad at 69 so to have a parent alive, well, happy and cognitive at 104 is truly amazing.

Sounds like a great visit and how special for both of them! I was really hoping the smoke would stay away for Colin today … it was looking good during my walk first thing but by the time we headed over the bridge at 9:30 it was rolling in. Hopefully tomorrow is better.
