Catching up on some of our happenings

A different colored oriole joined me for tea Thursday morning.  Yes I have now taken to drinking mint tea in the mornings instead of decaf coffee.

Very pretty.  It is very different from the vivid orange oriole I showed in my December 13th post.

Colin decided to ask Ismael if there was a way to shorten that very tall and wide fence post that was always in my way.  He said yes, that he would do it the next day.  Its been a few days and I now think I would also like that post on the right lowered as well.  We never used to have a fence and that is how I and some others preferred it.  Don’t ask me why we have one now.

Less than ten minutes later he showed up with a chain saw and my view was vastly improved.  Mil gracias.  We should have asked a month ago when we first got here.  Hard to believe that we have already been here just a few days over a month.

Because the wind was cool and there was little sunshine, I was sitting under the palapa reading my book, when I heard guitar music.  I got up and peered around the corner and there was Colin entertaining over at Diane and Pierre’s.  Their guest David really enjoyed the music.

Thursday’s sunset.

We used the BBQ with the mat to cook some dorado/mahi mahi.  I put some mayonnaise on the fillets topped with lime slices to keep the fish moist and tender.

Another great meal.  Looks like Colin was hungry.

We saw this stately heron on Friday’s beach walk.  Further down the beach there was a larger blue heron but he flew off before we could get close.  Such magnificent birds.

Later Friday afternoon, there were ten of us at an impromptu happy hour over at Jose and Pat’s.  We had such a good time that I forgot to take photos of the group.  But I didn’t forget the best part of the day.  It was beautiful 360-degree sunset with significant color.

Amazing how fast the time goes by when you are enjoying the beach in the winter. Keep having fun.

I tried dorado on my cuisinart grill after a marinade in Italian salad dressing. Pretty good but I think a saute in garlic butter is my favorite. All good!

Those orioles are pretty birds and once again another beautiful sunset. Nice that you got the fence posts cut down 🙂

The picture of the sunset is fantastic. I don’t know about that fence post. I kinda liked the natural rough top to it. It does improve the view a lot. I haven’t figured out the reason for the fence yet. 🙂

Some of the RVers are scared of the Mexican vendors and want a barrier. We have never ever ha a problem. I really dislike the fence.
