Curious birds

It might have been midday day New Year’s Eve that I was sitting at my computer and looked out under the palapa to see a variety of birds flying back and forth and more.

They were landing everywhere.

Many at the same time.

Even on the flower arrangement I brought home from the quinceanera.

Colin and I just sat there watching this amazing show.

Sitting on a bottle of bug spray.

Can you see the wee one on the right of the flowers?

Now perching on the fire extinguisher.

Even the slippery top of the snowman.  It was most entertaining.

Most unusual.  It was like an invasion of a gang.

Different species of orioles plus a few other types of birds.

It lasted for the longest time and they seemed to be quite relaxed among our things. This was the first and only time that this has happened.

Any thoughts as to why this might have happened?

Love the birds, one of the best things about the Ilse in the winter and here in AZ the rest of the year.

  4. Ah, the simple things in life always seem to bring the best pleasures. We’re hear in the rv, heater on low, reading blogs and listening to Canon in D. What more could a person want. Happy New Year!

No idea about the birds, but very pretty and I’m sure entertaining. Wonder if it could have something to do with the colours of the flowers attracting them?

I know it is the oranges that we put out that attracts the orioles but no idea why they are enjoying the area under our palapa.

  6. Barbara Lane says:

“Because they fly high in the sky, Lightworkers often tell us that they are messengers of the Gods who provide humans with a bridge between the mundane and spiritual life… Birds symbolize the power that helps people to speak reflectively and leads them to think out many things in advance before they take action. Just as birds are lifted up into the air by their feathers and can remain wherever they wish, the soul in the body is elevated by thoughts and spreads its wings everywhere. They represent the human desire to escape gravity, to reach the level of the angel. The bird is often the disembodied soul, free of its physical constrictions.”

Regarding the symbology of Orioles, from the book “Animal-Speak”, in part:

“Oriole is from the word aureolus, meaning “little golden one” in Latin, and its clear, cheery song and bright colors are signs of new golden sunshine about to enter into your life. Watch for sunshine to show up in any area of your life within a two-week period, mainly because the oriole eggs, usually four to six – hatch in two weeks. Pray and meditate with the oriole for any project in order to help it come to fruition or move along smoothly within a two-week period.”

Also, when you can, make note of the number of things (butterflies, birds, etc.), as that’s symbolic too, as is color.

What a lovely gift you and Colin were given!

    Abrazos, Barbara
