You just have to take each day as it comes
This is my post for Saturday which is about Friday and for Sunday which is about Saturday. I wish I could write at night about the day that was ending and I really like it when I do but it usually just never works out. For instance last night I started this post but only got two photos in when dinner was ready. I just had to let the post go. As it was, I ate dinner and was asleep within minutes on the sofa. I have been very tired the past few nights.
We are still dealing with a stinky carpet. We have used two types of liquid disinfectant and have let that dry. Today ( Sunday ) we rubbed a full box of baking Soda into the carpet. We will leave it for a few days before vacuuming it. Hopefully it will make a difference. Our neighbor has a small carpet cleaner which will be our next step. If that doesn’t work then we may have to cut the carpet out. I can’t live in in a bedroom that smells like sewer water.
So being as it was Friday I went to get my hair colored and cut even though my appointment was supposed to have been Thursday. My hairdresser was 40 minutes behind. I had a bad feeling about it all. Colin came to get his hair cut while I was still processing. She cut his hair, then took my foils out and washed my hair. As she started to dry my hair I was shocked to see how dark it was. Colin maneuvered around so he could whisper to me without her hearing “too dark “. Yes I know. I was devastated. She said don’t worry, once it is dry it will be blonde. No it was not. She told me to wash it a few times and it will lighten up. All I can do is give that a try.
We did some gardening Saturday morning and then walked the beach. Best part of the day. We hadn’t been back more more than 30 minutes when the RV tech showed up to redo the pipes that got messed up last Saturday. That was the error that caused our RV to flood and has created the still very stinky carpet issue.
I am writing this Sunday evening and I am feeling better. More about today tomorrow.

The sunset sure can brighten your mood – watching all that color develop.
Your hair is a very soft color, I like it and hope in time you will, too.
You my dear are a very special friend. Gracias for your comments. Still not happy but I am trying to let it go.
Those strange “formations” on the beach at low tide are Lugworm castings ( poop) – just goggle it – gross ! There is a huge worm down there ingesting sand, digesting micro organisms, and casting off the excess sand as a rope-like formation. If you got a shovel and could dig fast enough and deep enough – you could catch him. He is ugly. Yuck ?
OMG. However do you know this. I did the Googling. Yuck is right.
I’m just catching up on blogs from the past week or so. I will have to go back and read about your flood but our wifi isn’t great here so it may be the end of the month before I catch up. I think you hair looks very nice but I can appreciate how disheartened you felt, hopefully it will lighten up with a few washes but I’m not holding my breath.
So far you are correct about it no lightening up. One wash and no difference.
Another fun day getting things done, and your hair colour I really like.
Aww you are so very sweet for saying that.
I like the colour of your hair. It looks very warm, soft, and I think it suits you. The other thing to remember is that is only hair. It will grow out and will fade with the sun and washing. I know that doesn’t help but at least it’s fixable, even if it takes a bit of time. Lesson learned, find a new hair dresser.
It’s nice to get the chores out of the way even if it is a bit noisy.
I had a flood once in a basement of a house, and it was three boxes of baking soda before the smell was actually gone. It took about a week. You may even want to just roll the carpet up and make certain the underlay is dry and sprinkle some baking soda on that too. A few small containers with baking soda in them around the room will also help while the soda is working in the carpet. Just a thought.
Yes it is only hair. I have to be very very careful as my hair is very fine. Long ago my hair actually fell out due to a hairdressers lack of knowledge. Very difficult to find someone here in Mazatlan.
I agree totally with Deb about your hair. But I really like reddish blonde hair, and I could never pull it off. But you sure can! ?
You are a very special person for saying that.
As someone who’s had cats who had a lot of “accidents” and vomiting late in their lives, suggest that you check the local pet supply stores and veterinarians for Nature’s Miracle, an enzyme-based solution specifically formulated for that kind of contaminant. Being liquid, it will also soak through the carpet info your underpad, which baking soda won’t reach. Good luck!
Actually we used an entire bottle of Nature’s Miracle on that carpet. I think we need a second and third application of the baking soda.
Light, dark, dark, light, you’re still gorgeous! I think it looks great!
Aww, love you too.
We have had several floods. All where my flaunt. Time will take the memory away. And an lot of effort. You are contessa no matter what color your hair. Looks like fun. Maybe add some really bright hi-lights (for fun).
It is not the memory that I need to get rid of but the smell:) How sweet of you to say that and you are correct. My hair does not define who I am.
I think it looks just like the “About Us” picture on the right side bar. I like it! Many can pull off blonde, but it takes “peaches and cream” coloring to pull off the strawberry blonde. I think you wear it well.
Only one of my besties would say that.
