On our walk the other morning I spotted this starfish. It caught my eye because of its unusual position.
We stopped to watch it. It was moving ever so slowly.
I said to Colin that I thought that it was turning itself over.
It was low tide and I suspect that a wave had turned it over.
But look at how flexible it is yet it was moving so very very slowly.
Success at last.
Stretched out and resting.
Then along came a wave, higher then the others and off it went. In retrospect I should have done a video of the event. Never even thought of it as we were so engrossed in watching the starfish.
Yesterday’s sunset.

What a privilege to see the Starfish and all the acrobats it went through to turn over. It looks very large.
Nice sunset.
I can’t say how large it was, maybe 8 – 11 inches in total length. The sunsets here never disappoint.
Such a wonderful experience, starfish are very entertaining 🙂
This starfish was extra special:)
What a treat to watch something so amazing.
I really wish that I had thought to do a video as well.
Wow, that’s quite a feat and all in slow motion. What a wonderful thing to witness.
It truly was amazing to watch. Nine years of walking this beach and this was a first for us. I guess just a question of being in the right pace at the right time.
Very cool starfish, I happen to love them too, we often try and put the beached ones back in the ocean, never saw one do it by themselves though
Yes we also always put the beached ones back in the ocean. Why not? Simply the right thing to do.
Wonderful and interesting post. Thank you!
You are most welcome. The post wrote it self thanks to that special starfish.
