This and that
Tonight I was supposed to post about the fireworks but I had no idea that we had taken over 500 photos. That takes time to edit. Plus those photos were taken with my iPhone. I did spend some time that morning reading about how to take firework photos with an iPhone. So now we have to figure out how to edit from that. So instead here is a bit of this and that.
It wasn’t until later when Colin asked our waiter that it became clear to us. It is called the game of “toques,” where people clutch two metal bars and allow themselves to be electrocuted, just for fun. The goal is to keep hold of the positive and negatively charged handles as long as you can while the current is gradually increased up to a maximum of 120 volts. It has become quite the craze here in Mexico. Apparently if you hang on up to 80 volts you probably can’t let go. We talked to Erik our RV guy and he has tried it, up to 60 volts. It has been around Mexico City for quite a while but this is the first time we have seen it in Mazatlan. Colin did some research and found this article that explains the game very clearly and it also includes a few videos. What if you have a weak heart 😯
We have been going full tilt this past week but I will get the blog caught up eventually. Certainly never a dull moment around us. I have more happening than I have time to post about and the week ahead is full as well. Good thing we are leaving in a few weeks. I need to get home for a rest 😆

Okay only crazy people purposely electrocute themselves! Thanks for posting the hibiscus pictures, the rabbits have eaten all mine.
What if a participant had a pacemaker in their heart and the shock could disrupt the pacemaker? But I guess fatalism is part of the Mexican culture.
Electrocuting yourself? No my idea of a fun time.
What humans will do for cheap thrills. Your flowers are absolutely beautiful
That “game” is crazy
Flowers beautiful!!!!
When I was a kid they would have something like the toques at the carnivals and fairs in the Midwest. We were just talking about that recently. I don’t know if I have the nerve to do it now !
So glad you’re having so much fun…
