My brains are being fried

I have a visitor here who is helping me with some major computer changes.  I am not computer literate so this is extremely difficult for me.  I almost lost it after she left Thursday.  It is difficult to cope with so many changes at once.  One of the changes is a switch from Firefox to Safari.  All of the changes have to implemented in my four Apple devices, the desktop, laptop, new iPad which I am still trying to figure out and the iPhone.

We saw many termite wings on the beach yesterday.

Today was yet another marathon session and I am now supposed to be using Photos instead of iPhoto.  Well guess what?  I refuse to, well at least for tonight 😯  I am done.  No little grey cells left.

Can you spot the three birds in this photo?  No don’t count the dust spots:). We never had a walk today and I can hardly wait to get out there again tomorrow.

The main reason for this post is that I am unable to make comments on other posts.  It was fixed for a short period of time earlier today but it is not working again.  Please know that I am reading your posts but unable to comment.

Session three is tomorrow.  The timing is a bit off as we are leaving here in only eleven sleeps including tonight.  The season is coming to an end and I already have had to decline two invitations.  We only have so many hours left 😕  Is my research done for Europe?  No, still at least two full days left.  Oh well, poco a poco.  These computer updates are a necessity, it’s just that I don’t have much left in me to absorb more knowledge.

Earlier tonight. Taken with my iPhone but transferred to iPhoto, not Photo. I will get to that eventually but I can only do so much in one day.

You are lucky you have some expert help visiting! You will get through it. Did you manage to download the Michelle Obama book?

Just the you time and it will eventually come to you. And all will be good in the Apple orchard again.

  3. Contessa, if by chance on your travel home you come close to an Apple store, go in and bring your devices. They help with anything and as far as I know at no charge.
You can have both Safari and Firefox on your Apple devices and use Safari exclusively for browsing but also use iPhoto! I do and have!
It just takes a little time to get used to it all but really its super simple and easy.
Hope you manage, just stay with it.

Contessa is way more competent on her Apple devices that she believes. The problem is that 99% of her issues are Google-related and that environment is very messy. I gave up on using anything Google on my Apple devices because they just caused too many headaches. So she gets props for sticking with it and deserves the occasional meltdown because of them!

I made an executive decision Marlene and plan to use iPhotos for the next few months. Let me learn this new stuff and when I know that then I will try and do the change to Photos. I looked at Photos yesterday and I have no idea how to use it. So very very different. I cringe when I look at it. It will be a huge learning curve. But only when I am ready.

I so appreciate your advice. Rae has done above and beyond. She knows her stuff. Firefox has been slowing my computer down which is why I made the change. Photos will be a major energy requirement. Not ready yet.

Stick with it, you’ll get it. Change is always harder after a long period of comfort.

  6. Anytime there are changes to programming it always takes time to readjust our thinking to it. Be Patient with yourself and soon you will be the Pro.
    Be Safe and Enjoy!

    It’s about time.

    Hi Contessa and Colin,
Well, I don’t know how you feel about the season. But from my view, it’s been a fabulous, fun-filled, sun-filled, eating, drinking and dancing time!! Wishing you continued safe travels and fun with your RV family. Much love and hugs. Have a blast in Europe and keep the blog going.
See you next season, Kathleen and Ron
