Yesterday was a much more relaxing day

After that long and late happy hour Friday I slept in a bit and then decided to give myself the day off, sort of.  We both worked on computers for a few hours.  I was catching up on emails and various files I had made over the winter with things that needed to be dealt with once we were home.

We got a knock on the door about 11:30AM and I was still in my nightie. But oh what a treat.  I was smothered in puppy kisses.  A neighbour a block away lost her dog a year ago and saw this one online as part of a puppy rescue from the Baja and has had him for just two weeks now.  Very sweet surprise.  I do have to say that as much as I enjoyed holding the puppy that my heart did not feel any desire to get one for us.  We are still not ready plus we are traveling more now.

It was bitterly cold out yesterday . Colin came back in to put long pants on.  He is trimming the berries off the Mountain Ash before they rot and make a mess on our lawn. He did a few other chores as well.

It rained off and on and we had the fireplace on or a heater on at my desk if I needed it .  I forced myself to stop about 4:40PM and take time to sit in my recliner with a glass of wine.  It was time to try to read a book on my new iPad.  I don’t think I have read a book since early February.  I did very well and somehow figured out how to flip the pages and to bookmark my place.  I actually enjoyed reading on the iPad.  It appears that I made a good choice.  At one point I even checked my emails while sitting there.  Then I had a wee nap until Colin woke me up.  It was time for dinner which we ate as we watched a movie. I never even fell asleep.  A good day.

The rain brought more snow to the higher elevations.

Gotta love those relaxing days when you can pace yourself. Suzie really enjoys here I-pad too she can multitask, read, play games surf the net of it. works for her.So easy to use. I like my Kobo because it keeps me away from my computer and I can read in the sun.

It was pure joy to have a day off. Likely I will be reading a real book when outside. The iPad is for travel reading and for Colin to use while I am on the laptop.

Always something to do when we look around. Nothing wrong with being in your nightie, it’s your home.
I agree with George about reading on the Kobo and reading outside is so easy, no glare. I also enjoy my iPad but have never done any reading on it. Glad you are happy with the choice you made!!

I love being in my nightie, so relaxing. I have no plans to read on my iPad out of doors. This is strictly for travel. I love holding a book and will likely continue to do so here at home and while Rving….but then you just never know 🙂

Nothing wrong with borrowed puppy kisses! When we need a dog fix we visit our grand dogs…two Greater Swiss Mountain gals.gala. and

  4. What a cute puppy! My neighbor lost her dog sadly last year and she still wants to do lots of travelling so dog sits once in a while for her sister and for neighbors to get her dog fix – that allows her to get her puppy love and travel all the same!

How special for your neighbour. Not sure that would work for me but I just might try it. After all last winter I did save that dog off the beach and her pups and then the other pups that were dropped into our yard on the Isla
