Our windows only got washed once last year back in June. We only got back from Mexico mid April and left four weeks later until mid June. Then we got the windows cleaned. It made no sense to have them done again before we left September 27th so they are very dirty.
I was watching for the window washers when I saw these vehicles stopped in the road. Why would there be a wide load truck on our road?
Of course, a new park model home is coming in.
If you look closely that car to the right of the truck has been moved ( from the previous photo ) as they needed a wider turning radius. But why are they coming this way and having to do three turns? They are only going about 4 or 5 sites down on the other side of our U shaped street and could easily have backed down. Much easier.
Colin had already moved our two vehicles for the window washers and then moved the golf cart out of the way as he saw the park home approach. As the park home got closer we were asked to move the golf cart further away as they thought they might have to swing into our driveway.
The driver was really concentrating.
Two corners completed and one to go. Colin was asked to move the Jeep even further up the driveway he had parked it in, just in case. That is my Lexus on the extreme left, safe on the neighbours lot. We put storage insurance on my car September 22nd and it will stay that way until the end of June. You can only insure your vehicle for 3, 6 or 9 or 12 months. I need it for four months once we get back from Europe but likely will just go for the three months to the end of September. Certainly not putting any mileage on that car.
Eventually the park home made the turn and was parked. I was surprised at how very few windows there were. We love our windows. In the midst of all this excitement the window washers arrived.
I never thought to get a photo of them working, just as they left. One did the inside while the other did the outside and the window screens. So nice to have crystal clear windows again. They use 100% pure water which makes the windows stay clean longer.
Shortly after they left we were informed that our water was being turned off for an indefinite amount of time due to a major water pipe break. So we filled a few containers with drinking water from our filtered water system. We could always grab some lake water to flush the toilet as needed. It sure was difficult for me to concentrate on my paperwork with all this commotion going on around us.
Happy hour # two within a few days. Always fun to have Inger and Steve over and they caught us up on all the things that transpired over the last six months while we were gone. Here Inger is holding a pair of handmade wine glasses I got for them as a thank you for all the extras that they do for us. It was another one of my famously long happy hours. I think that those are the only ones I know 🙂
No dinner for me. Straight into the tub. I figured out how to read my iPad in the the bath without dropping it in. I actually did nod off once and dropped my book into the tub. With the print on the iPad turned up to large I could see it while reclining and just had to tap the page to turn it. The bubbles were almost gone and it was time to get out. I do plan to get back to reading real books when I am home but I am trying to learn how to use the iPad before we leave for Europe.
I headed off to bed at 11PM while Colin finished whatever he was watching and had something to eat.
Our life certainly has no boundaries re time to eat, to sleep nor when to work. We are are free spirits and that is now becoming incorporated in our future travels. Life is good. We truly try to live each day to the fullest.
That looked like a tight turn with that park model! And it looks like you have sunny skies at home, I really hope we will be able to make it home tomorrow.
I have been thinking about you all day. Hope you made it back with no issues.
Gotta love watching them move those large homes in the parks. Being a free spirit is the best was to go.
certainly not an easy job parking this things. Really working on not stressing about things.
That bath pic gave me hives. Please pick up one of these! https://amzn.to/2U6kqr3 😉
I can’t get over how tight it looks to get the houses into your park. Driver did a great job!
Relax mi amiga. It only happened three times and I will get back to a paper novel while reading in the bath. Yes,that driver did a very good job. FYI we live on one of the widest streets in the park. I can’t imagine parking something like that on much narrower street.
