I did it

We woke up to yet another cool and wet day.

You can actually see the hills here but for most of the day they were covered with cloud right down to the lake.

It was a perfect morning to finish off the year end.

Not only did I finish it, I managed to balance everything to the penny on both sides of the ledger.  So nice to have our dining room table  back again.

This was the sunset last evening.

With the reflecting light to the south.

I zoomed in on a white spot on the lake. As you can see it was on the far side of the lake and close to the highway.  It is a person laying on a paddle board or a floating mat.  It is freezing out there, what on earth was he doing last evening?  Maybe after enduring the winter, he considers this nice weather?

Nice to get the year end done, easier taxes now since we don’t have the restaurant anymore.

Thanks George. One day ( I hope ~ Colin never wants to retire ) I won’t have to do this. I was shocked when I realized that I have been doing this for 29 years now.

Always feels so much better to have the taxes done and filed. I’m just happy all we have is just ours and no business stuff.

I’m gals that yours are done. You are both so busy right now try to get your lives sorted out and setting up new routines.

I really love the sheets from the online company Boll and Branch. They wash up beautifully and have a “quality” feel to them.

Thanks for making your first comment on my blog. Love to have you here. Another great suggestion. I see that I will be researching this seriously.

  4. Yay – congrats, I know that feeling and it’s a good one. I did manage to get our personal tax done yesterday – had to start whole return over (even called turbotax and they say sometimes if you put money in the wrong spot you can’t correct it and have to start over – note to self – be super careful next year)

Too bad that happened. I hate wasting time as you do in having to redo something. So glad it is over for another year. I can’t believe that this was my 29th year of doing this.

Congrats on getting the books to balance. Once I was Official Agent for an NDP Member of Parliament and my books were out by $0.40. I worried, fretted and searched for days until an accountant supporter came in, asked what was wrong and quickly changed an entry to make everything balance. “They aren’t going to through you in jail over forty cents!”. I submitted my books and they never said anything.

    • contessa says:

Gracias amigo. No somehow, I don’t think that they would jail you for 40 cents. Personally I just like to balance. The thing is, if I can balanced each of the twelve months why can’t I balance the entire year? Mostly but to transposing a number or just a wrong entry.

Getting the taxes done lifts a great weight off your shoulders at least it does me. Love your cozy fireplace.

    • contessa says:

I love my fireplace as well. It was the first thing we bought for this house when we designed it. It wasn’t even built yet and it was being delivered to us from California.

Congratulations, I’ll bet that’s a load off your shoulders. What a crazy idiot to be out on the lake in this weather!

Wow, you live in a virtual paradise. Congrats on getting the “tax monkey” off your back for another year!

How fun to have you comment today. I was just telling someone earlier at lunch how I had met you at the Alburqueque Ballon Fiesta.
