Mexico Que Pasa!
Is seems to me that Mexico is about to see an influx of RVers and other travellers. Many are first timers driving down, if not in an RV then in their own vehicle. I honestly didn’t expect it. Great news. My sources you ask, well certainly not professional or official but gleamed from here and there. In all a huge positive feeling over last year at this time.
Mike & Terri Church report that at both their American and Canadian seminars over the summer the numbers interested in travel to Mexico have certainly increased. To quote Terri in an email ( sorry Terri I never asked to use this first, please forgive me )…………………………”I think we had better attendance at the Mexico seminars than
we did last year. At all almost all the seats were filled and usually people
were standing. We visited with several couples who have never been and after
seeing the seminar seemed inspired to give it a try.”
Personally, I have 5 sets of friends who are venturing further south into Mexico as well as to areas they have not been before. In short, they are feeling comfortable to do so. Good for you all. I even have a whole pack of people coming into Mazatlan who I will get to meet. A few are considering staying at Tres Amigos RV Park on the Isla. I really hope that this will be the year the final 10 miles of ‘that road’ will be paved. Once you do get there you will never want to leave. I’ve even talked a few RVers from here in Kelowna to try out Mexico out this winter. Hey what else am I going to talk about at our conversation pool!
I saw today on the Jaltemba Sol, an online newsletter more interesting information re travel to Mexico. Bill & Dorothy Bell have started a Travel Buddies Facebook page for people wanting to hook up with others to travel across the US/Mexico border and points south. I read yesterday that there are many first timers driving into Mexico. This is similar to the Rolling Press Mexico Travel Buddy Search Page put out by Mike and Terri Church. By the way this is the site to find all the updates to the current Traveler’s Guide to Mexican Camping. You will always be current with the very latest information as in new campgrounds or cancellations or problems on the road. It is updated by Mike & Terri, as we, the Mexican RVers send them information. There is also another Mexico Forum dedicated forum that has a section for travel buddies.
Mazatlan itself is gearing up for a wonderful season. There is so much happening from new theatre to a wonderful new beauty salon that is way more than that. I almost didn’t want to share this link with you but hopefully there will be room for all of us at Tippy Toes. They even serve wine! The owner of Tippy Toes wrote the book ‘The Kabul Beauty School which we will be discussing in our Tres Amigos book club this winter.
Wow when I started this post I wasn’t sure what direction it was going to go. Viva Mexico!!!!
Might as well give you one more wonderful link to the Mazatlan Exchange Forum, now owned & moderated by Nancy from Countdown to Mexico who also writes for Mexico Today. My goodness, this post is going to keep you busy clicking here and there for a long time.

Thanks so much Contessa! I have my fingers crossed that the new forum is going to be a success! Saludos and safe travels.
For sure, Viva Mexico! When do you guys head out? We are there from Oct. 16-Oct. 23 this time. We’re hoping to go back, even if it’s by ourselves, in Feb. or March.
And to those who have never been to the Isla, I have to tell you it’s a wonderful as Contessa’s pictures. Such a serene, lovely place, and awesome beach!
You got sand in my hot dog!

Hi Contessa,
Thanks for all the links! It will make winter days go faster when I need something to read while the snow falls. We don’t travel as much anymore so I really enjoy reading RVer’s blogs. I do so enjoy reading yours – very entertaining! Can’t wait to see your lovely pictures when you get there. We are back home in PA now. Hope all is going well for you guys. Take care!
Glad you had a good summer. Maybe someday you’ll drop by the Isla for a week or so.
Si! Viva Mexico! Good bye cold & snow and work….hello sun, sand, surf….and tacos
Just a quick note to let you know I still read and greatly enjoy your blog, even all the RV info that doesn’t pertain to us at all! Good luck with all your big and little projects as you prepare to leave in October. I’ll carry on reading from Europe – T & I leave on Tuesday for Germany, Austria and probably Italy – how odd is it to be going on a 3wk trip and not have everything planned and booked? So we’ll see what happens – or do lots of hasty internet stuff in the next few days.
