RV trip preparations…
…I almost said RV prep 101 but that may be beyond some of you.
So what do we do to get the beast ready to hit the road. Mucho mucho mas!!
We have used Troy for 8 years now and could not manage without him. This year we had him do the oil & filter change on the generator, change the air filter on the engine, rewire a faulty step switch which saved us several hundred dollars, hey we don’t need autiomatic. Our solar panel control was caput so he wired in a new one. He did a good deal of general wear and tear maintenance.
Meanwhile Colin handled the slide lubes, the new anode rod in the hot water tank, the tire pressure checks and many other details. He had new battery cables made which he has yet to install. We have 4 six volt batteries and 4 solar panels. Colin has checked that all systems are functioning at top performance. He also had our soft water system serviced and repaired.
In August we took all our Pressure Pro sensors off the car and the RV and sent them in for an entire new set. A mere $35.00 per sensor for a complete new set of sensors. We had the first set for close to 4 years so it was time to make the update and change. For those who don’t have these think about it seriously. The new ones will be installed and calibrated in the next few days.
Colin is not happy with the water pump and we are taking the beast in on Thursday for a wee check at the local RV shop. Bonus is that they give those of us living here in Holiday Park a 10% discount off of everything. While in the shop we will have them double check the batteries to be sure they are in top shape. We love our diesel pusher as the maintenance is low key and we know that the rig will outlive us!!!

Looks like you are hearing the “call of the open road” loud and clear. Safe Travels you two.
Nice to get all the maintenance done by a mechanic that you know and trust. That is the key to making your coach last a very long time. Soon to be on the road again!
Man, I wish we had a “Troy” near us. I can do most things myself, but otherwise we are at the mercy of our local dealers.
You do have one beautiful looking rig !!
Safe travels… TnT
