Even more visitors
We had our third happy hour in a row yesterday. That was a first for us. Not even in Mexico do we go to happy hour three nights in a row, not to mention hosting. Croft wanted to introduce Penny to his friend Rod and co worker from back in the day and his wife Sylvia. This was their second vistit here this summer. They attended the blogger fest, a few weeks ago. Oh my goodness, I never even thought until this very moment as I am composing this post to get a photo of Croft, Rod and I, a different trio of bloggers.
We had reservations for 7PM at the Italian Kitchen here in the park. The rain became more intense so Sylvia and Rod took Penny and Croft with them in their car to the restaurant. Colin and I put the food away and did a quick tidy up. We had reservations outside but when I saw the storm brewing ( I never got a shot of the dark sky ) I called and changed us to a table inside. The restaurant kept a table both inside and outside for us. Very nice. By the time we left the house to meet the group there was a break in the rain. Not only were we having rain but thunder and lightening. Several fires were ignited as well as a house catching fire due to lightening strikes. We had 4000 plus strikes here in the valley alone. As of this afternoon there are only a few fires burning, nothing too big at this time. The lightening was spectacular. Someone made a wee video of the show.
Another wonderful evening with friends. The rain continued for a good part of the night. I didn’t need to water the garden today.

What a wonderful, happy, and beautiful group! Cheers to you all (I’m sitting here in the kitchen drinking a glass of Woodbridge Lightly Oaked Chardonnay wine and listening to tropical storm winds); honestly, I didn’t send you the storm and lightning! Got my trusty LED lamp beside me if we lose electric. Just thinking about those poor people in the Bahamas. I believe Chris is dealing with a storm which came in from the Gulf of Mexico; I’ll check his blog. These storms are exploding this year.
We have been thinking about you and wondering how you are managing. I knew that you would not evacuate.
Another nice get together, more fun times. We have happy hour everyday early, no snacks anymore, as you know then everyone goes home by 5 pm for their own dinner.
Unlike you our happy hours only start between 4 and 5PM. We don’t know may who eat at 5PM any longer.
was the RV fire at holiday park last night ?
No, it was at Teddy Bear Lodge. Re read the article. https://www.castanet.net/news/Kelowna/265138/2-injured-in-RV-fire
I love he view from your living room. I would sit on that couch for days. Did you have the side glass wall constructed, or was the place like that when you bought it?
Thank you Gene. We totally designed our home. The glass wall to the left of the house as you face the lake was an add a room once the main part of the house was delivered here. We had to preplan those wooden support beams so we could open up the room. We even planned which direction certain windows would open in order to create flow through breezes. Lots of planning and supervision as it was being constructed. We love it.
Well your inside is just like you’re outside and just as nice!
I have to agree with you Kathy. When inside it is like being outside.
That’s great that you could all get together!
It was great that it worked out for Rod and Croft to get together.
Another great night. Thanks for having us, and kudos to you for providing the great Light Show!
I do my best to provide some extras. In Mazatlan its cruise ships at happy hour. It was lovely having you join us.
