It was a pretty good day
As many of you know I have still have had some issues with my right knee since my January 3rd surgery. The past four days have brought a different type of pain. I woke up with it one morning and wondered if I had done something to it during the night while asleep. Fortunately physiotherapists are back to work since the 19th and I was able to call yesterday and get an appointment for this morning at 9:45AM. This clinic had only been open for a few days.
As I walked in the door I was asked to use their hand sanitizer. I was told they could sell me a mask for $2.00 if I did not have one. Next I was asked if I was sick, if I had a fever, etc. I noticed that there were only three chairs in the waiting room, well spaced. No children nor spouses are allowed into the office with you.
Hailley, my physiotherapist, came to get me and offered to carry my heavy bag with 14 pounds of weights in it. First thing she said is that her hands were clean. She made a point of getting a pillow that had been sitting in another area airing out and covering it with a fresh pillowcase. As we were sitting at opposite ends of the examining room I asked if could take my mask off as my glasses were steaming up. No problem and of course she kept hers on. She was aghast that I had meniscus surgery and told me that that is not done any longer 😯 I explained to her that I had between 85 – 90% of my meniscus left and the that Mazatalan surgeon had only removed a sliver. She approved. Then she took my history and I showed her my exact exercise routine as set out for me by Octavio, my Mazatlan physio contact. Next came the examination of my knee from many angles, lots of poking and prodding and pushing.
Bottom line, she claims that my knee is not inflamed but rather that I have some water on my knee which will likely go away over time. Hailley also stated that it looked like I had had a great surgery and that my exercise routine was spot on and that she would change nothing. She approved of the amount of walking I was doing each day. The pain I have been experiencing is likely due to a pull during one of my exercises. So she used ultrasound, massaged that area and did some manipulation. I was to take the day off ( I did do a medium walk once the rain stopped ) and use either ice or heat, my preference. I felt much better after the appointment in that I now have a second opinion and that everything that happed in Mexico was positive. The best news was that I had a full range of motion in my right knee.
Next stop was Costco and it was about 11AM as we approached. Colin was rather concerned about line ups. There was nothing more than a five minute wait. The parking lot was pretty full as was the inside of the store. Someone was counting the number who entered. I did not notice if they were counting those that has left. We both were surprised at how busy it was inside. Most were observing social distancing, but not all.

The new grill looks great, hope it works as well as it looks!
Us too but based on further blog comments it looks like we purchased the right grill.
We purchased the exact same grill last year and it resides in the car ready for picnics. Aside from a few hotspots it works very well. Nice to hear your knee is doing just fine and that the surgeon in Mazatlán did a great job. Best to you, enjoy the sunny weather.
I understand that there are two sizes of this grill. I imagine that yours must be the smaller one but ten again it might not be. Do you use a propane bottle or a tank?
I bought the same grill two years ago and I use it in Mazatlan. Good choice. Easy to clean. Always starts and two burners are a must so you can keep warm on one side and cook on the other. I do the bbcueing and I really like it.
Never thought of using the one burner for keeping things warm. Great suggestion. Great to hear that this was a good choice for us.
Glad your knee is doing well.
Cosco really went all out protecting everyone.
We barely had our Weber two months when it stopped working. Calling Tech Support they immediately sent a new Regulator designed for use with larger Propane Tanks.
Waiting to see how this one works.
Be Safe and Enjoy!
It’s about time.
I think that we needed yet another new regulator but Colin decided he wanted a change. He is the BBQ chef after all.
So nice to know the care and after care you received in Mexico was spot on 🙂 Glad you got to see your physiotherapisst. I am going to the dentist on the first day they open which is Tuesday (more on that in my post shortly as I had no urge to rush in). Our Costco is much the same except I like to go in the last hour when it is quieter, haven’t been back since they have asked everyone to wear masks but glad they did
I was so relieved to get that news. Not sure I am ready for the dentist but I know that you need to get there. As we drove past Costco about 4:45 this afternoon there was no line.
Nice to hear that your Mexico surgery was done properly. We used to have the same grill you just bought and loved it. I can’t remember why we had to replace it but we did replace it with a Webber and are not nearly as happy with the Webber.
Most interesting about us going to your previous and you to our last BBQ. Our problem was in the propane not getting out fast enough.
Oh excellent I’ve been thinking of getting this exact same barbecue please let me know what you think of it.
We plan to use it on Friday for salmon but based on the comments in this post I think it will work for you.
