On the mend…
The entire family is doing well. Yesterday was massage day for Colin and I. Mary from Mazatlan, not to be confused with our Isla massage Mary does a great 60 minutes for 300 pesos and 90 minutes for 400 pesos which is about $30.00CAD. A 90 minute professional massage by a Canadian RMT!!! Reason enough to come to Mazatlan!
We had some new RVers drop into Tres Amigos for a few days. The couple is from Germany with 3 adopted children from the Congo. Their RV is actually an old fire rescue truck that they purchased at an auction in Germany for $3000.00USD. The cabin behind the drivers cab has 2 bench seats with a narrow table in between. The side walls have vertical sliding doors on them used for storage of clothes, food and equipment. There is a 30 inch wide by 4 foot high space in the very centre at the back ( where the firemen would keep their hoses, etc.) in which this family keeps their bikes. Their sleeping accommodation is two tents on the roof. They have slept in up to -5C temperatures here in Mexico like this. Their RV was shipped to Costa Rica via boat 5 months ago and now they are heading North. They have another 5 months on the road before heading back to Germany. Plans include a visit to Vancouver Island and perhaps Alaska where they hope to sell their RV before heading home.
For those reading this on the Isla, our dear Isla Mary had her surgery today and is resting well.

Way to go Carmeh – now mommy doesn’t have to worry so much!!! Also, loved the part about the traveling family from Germany – unique rv style. Just shows you can do anything if you put your mind and heart to it. I’d say those are three lucky kiddos.
