Where do you get your peanuts?
We get ours here on the Isla, grown, harvested and roasted! Does it get any better than that? It does…peanuts are fairly high in vitamins B1 and B3, as well as magnesium, phosphorus and folate, so get some today. It takes about 130 days for the peanut plant to mature. They are harvested here on Stone Island from mid October to the end of March.
That is how we get our peanuts on Isla de la Piedra.
MOM UPDATE: she was transferred to a private room yesterday with a 4 ‘ X 4’ window overlooking the atrium which has live birds flying around and yes she can see it all from her bed. There is a blind for privacy as desired. She was able to walk about 15 steps using her walker. Still no swallow test so the feeding tube remains. I hope to be able to talk to her later today, haven’t spoken since pre surgery on Dec. 22.

Oh, wow ! That will be so great to actually talk to your Mom !!
Glad to hear she is on the mend … Congrats !!
Take care … TnT
TnT….spoke for 2 minutes with Mom, the tube is out for now at least and her voice is raspy.
Marty….I’ll take you next time you visit.
George…Ontario, eh!
Longdog…….boiled peanuts….never heard of those.
Connie……these nuts are almost addictive, we would never but them at home.
I didn’t realize they grew peanuts there. I learned something new!
Glad to hear mom is getting better, And we did enjoy the fresh peanuts there. But seeing as you asked we usually buy ours in Ontario at Picards http://www.picardspeanuts.com/ and they are grown and harvested right here at home! Very good for you.
They grow lots of peanuts here in Texas and across the southeastern US. You see lots of places selling boiled peanuts as you head toward Florida. Sounds disgusting to me but there must be a lot of people that like them that way.
Hope you get to talk to your Mom today.
Interesting – I never saw peanut plants before – we like them for a snack once in awhile. The view from your mom’s hospital room sounds neat – live birds – that’s cool. Good to hear that she can get out of bed at least for alittle – that has to make her feel good.
