Faces of Mazatlan…

I have more photos of our day in Mazatlan to share with you. I just loved how the bougainvillea covered the face of this building.

With every step there is something new to see.

Wouldn't you like come stroll down this street with me?

Just a peak through an open door into a courtyard.

An inviting cafe!

How convenient is this, your own tree to park under.

Coming back on the panga this little guy wanted to take my photo with his toy camera.

So of course I took his also!

...Mazatlan has so many faces to it, so many stories to tell. I will never tire of this piece of Mexico.

MOM UPDATE:

She is back in a double room as the private room was for needed for an isolation case.  She still has the great view of the Healing Garden.  She is able to walk using her walker with assistance but of course tires easily.  The good news is that the feeding tube is out and she can swallow carefully by keeping her chin down on her chest.  This works for liquids and soft foods but not for swallowing pills.  There is talk of moving her in 10 days or so, to an extended care facility until she fully regains her strength.  Of course she does not want to go but she really has no choice as Dad nor I have the strength to care for her at home.

She is progressing, bit by bit. You and I know that sometimes that’s how we heal. I love your pictures. I think it was Nancy that said if you put a pencil in the ground in Mazatlan, it will grow!

Marty….thanks. IU am having trouble with my sweet peas, they are withering.

Mike….welcome to the blog. Hope to see you when you arrive.

Angie….Centro is just lovely. Please do a post soon Angie!

Sandie….Life is good for us all.

Longdog…the gardens are truly wonderful here. I think Mom has accepted the care facility as she realizes she is too weak to do most things on here own, even get out of bed on her own.

      George…gracias!

Marjorie…..thanks, they still maintain a year before they can deal with the hernia.

Jean…. I appreciate your thoughts and you are right about fearing it will be permanent.

Elaine….I just know that one day you WILL stroll down that street with me, if I can find it again 🙂

KAK…thanks, I just can’t believe that this was the first Artwalk we attended in 3 years, just too comfortable here on the Isla I guess.

Connie, thanks, we don’t go into Mazatlan much as we prefer being here on the beach but when we do go I just love it.

Kevin….gracias, yes the feeding tube made a huge difference.

  2. Great pics. Looks like a pleasant stroll. I hope to be in Mazatlan in the latter part of March. BTW, thanks for wandering by my blog. (and the Iguana really wasn’t bad, other than you can really tell you are eating a little leg, sort of like eating frog’s legs.)

    Hola Amiga,

Thanks for sharing this pictures, they bring me beatiful memories and make me homesick. Some surrounding streets close to el centro can be very nice to take a stroll and get lost in their buildings. Glad to hear that mom is doing much better. You take care Amiga and muchos Hugs 🙂

Love all the photos especially the bougainvillea and gardens. Glad to hear your Mom is continuing to improve. Maybe she will be less unhappy with the extended care facility idea when she realizes it is less like a hospital.

  6. Sounds good that mom is improving keep it up!

    Hi Contessa,
I was so happy to hear of your Mom’s steady progress.
Hopefully she will gain in strength so that eventually the hernia can be repaired to give her more comfort.
What a challenge for them both at this stage of life. Bless them!

Love your pictures of Mazatlan Your Mum is more than likely afraid the extended care facility could become permanent. She will need lots of reassurance that it is only until she gets stronger.
