Que pasa on the Isla !

Christmas is getting put away bit by bit. We still have our lights up inside just because it makes things ever so much cosier.

The big plan is to get away from pots that have to be transported somewhere when we go back to Canada, plants that need to be watered daily. We had Pablo put these three palms in the ground, a real relief to Colin as they were the heaviest of all our pots. We will now use these pots for annuals only.

This fellow with the very long and serious face walks past day after day carrying a lidded white bucket. I finally asked him what he had in there, was he selling anything? I thought he might be selling fish or something to eat. He showed me a bunch of metal & plastic coke containers then walked away. About 10 minutes later he returned with this gift for me. I asked how much, he said he did it for 'tips'! Excellent work with a small pair of scissors.

Unfortunately we have had some oil spills lately, probably from the freighters docked out there waiting for a berth in Mazatlan. I have never noticed the oil before. Hopefully it is not the promise of things to come.

The local cantina is open to one and all. A few hours later while out walking we saw a very very unsteady cowboy making his way home on this poor horse. Looked like the horse knew the way home.

Just another great day here on the Isla!

Glad I am not the only one who doesn’t have all the Christmas decorations put away yet. I am trying to get that done today while it is chilly and windy outside.

Longdog…..still have the lights up in and out.

George….the coke can is great, he also does it with plastic coke bottles but I think this shows up better. The oil will eventually disapate but you can see how bad oil is for the environment.

Marty…..exactly what I thought, use a small candle in there.

Mary…..he is a very shy fellow. I’m sure he would be delighted to make you one. I think Jessie wants one also

  2. Nice work with the coke can!
Too bad about the oil spill.

Finally got our Christmas stuff down. Didn’t put as much up this year, so it was a little easier to take it down. That Coke can would look neat with a candle inside.
