Tio Juan Restaurant

The grand opening was Friday evening.

Not too busy but busy enough and great great food and good service. Sorry my flash was off in error.

A very special thing about this place is that it is fully enclosed.  It is located at the west end of the beach plus it offers boat pick up from Mazatlan and  boat return to Mazatlan as part of the service.  The plan at this time is to be open from 12 noon to 12 midnight.  Eventually they will offer outdoor patio tables overlooking the beach.  They do intend to have live music from time to time.  All was very very clean, the kitchen is out back and seemed immaculate as are the washrooms.  There is a bar only area closer to the back of the photo.  By the time we left shortly after 9PM several tables were occupied by locals.

From what I gather everyone really enjoyed their meals. For an opening I thought they did very well. Just to the upper left is a music video screen. The music was enjoyable, a nice mix and the sound level was good. In fact management came around asking if it was too loud or too low and also to please offer any suggestions we could re the running of the restaurant.

A huge variety of choices with wonderful ice cream desserts.

Once we got the margarita recipe sorted out I was more than happy. Please don't change it.

Our coconut shrimp were the best I have ever had anywhere and the Thai sauce was a great touch. Plus the shrimp were huge and plentiful.

The manager and owner (??) handed out a prize to Warren & Joyce.

Did I mention dancing? Yes many danced....Colin did dance with me but this guy was well......no se 🙂

George….we hops so also as they are one of 2 that are open after 5PM!!!

Marty….deal, we will go around Maz eating coconut shrimp and have a showdown:)

Elaine….yup…the chair dancing was a bonus!

Longdog…yes pesos, so divide by 13. For the ease of it we just divide by 10 and know that is it still less than that. Great prices for great food.

Bob….Welcome to the blog as a commenter….not sure what I can do about the photos….will check it out. I’ve actually had complaints from Kevin & Ruth that my photos are too big!!!

They’d have to go some to beat the coconut shrimp at the La Palapa restaurant at Torres Mazatlan. Our salesman Steve says he hasn’t tasted better either. Sounds like a good excuse to go there and try it out.

Goodness those prices look scary but I imagine that would be in pesos.

Nice to see a new place open that not only has good food, but the management are genuinely involved with all aspects of the operation.
I’ve never been a believer in the old, “let’s turn up the music and get everyone up on their feet”, cr*p.
I want to sit and relax, and be able to talk with my dinner companions without wishing I had a hearing aid.
    Good luck to them.

I do wish your pictures would open up just a tad bigger though. Not only does my hearing suck, but I seem to be having some visual acuity issues as well.

    Just sayin’.
