Que Pasa
Overall the girls are doing very well. I feel so bad telling them no over and over. We are almost at the end of day five. Only five more to go. They seem to be in no pain so they want to run wild like greyhounds and more especially to wrestle. I can hardly wait for this to be over so I can just pick them up when I want to cuddle and most important not having to say “no” all the time. To me their incision area is looking great thus far. I think we will all be happier once they can resume their daily walks.
Covid continues to become a problem in our area because of the young non vaccinated. The only hospital in our city (population of 223,000 ) has started to cancel surgeries because the hospital is full. There was an online blurb this morning about someone who went into emergency Tuesday afternoon needing surgery because of a burst appendix. He only had his surgery at 4PM on Wednesday and was discharged at 10PM. Unheard of! However there are no beds in the hospital, He spent his entire stay on a gurney in a hallway. When I had my vein treatment last Monday the RN told me that she had a friend whose baby had Covid and was in hospital. That baby was only 11 weeks old. Turns out that they went to a wedding and likely caught it there. The mom despite being fully vaccinated also got Covid but with few symptoms. Someone had organized a block party for today. Great idea but not the right time to be socializing. We did not attend because of needing to be here every minute to supervise the twins. We likely would not have attend anyway because of Covid restrictions at this time.
It is going to be a wild next few hours and in the days to come. Prayers for those fighting our fires.

Looks like their scars are healing up nicely!
Well they were, I think Ciela popped one yesterday.
So glad the girls are healing up well, Dave said to tell Colin that he likes his red ride! The smoke is horrible I hope you guys are safe and will not have to evacuate. Some friends of ours from Vernon both parties are now evacuated from their homes,we are keeping our fingers crossed that you will not have to ??
You have to come visit Dave to check out the corvette. We are safe, so sorry to hear about your friends. We are making plans as to what to do if it is our turn to evacuate.
The smoke situation is becoming an annual thing in much of BC. It is a sad situation with little improvement in sight because of global warming. We have been lucky here on the Island with few fires and the prevailing winds keeping our skies fairly clear except for a little haze over the water some nights.
It is good to see the girls on the road to full recovery.
Hola amigo. I agree it is a global warming thing and will only get worse. Maybe we should look at moving there. Any suggestions?
oooo, u guys have bad smoke!!! we’ve had some coming from the south, some days not good, and the heat is horrid, BUT today there was a turn, lots of wind, blew that smoke away and it only got to 66!!! am sure to get sick after all that heat then smack…cold… had to wear a sweatshirt today! BUT was able to get out in the yard and finally do my edges… have LOTS of tomatoes coming one and boy are they ever good!!! and there are some lemon cucumbers!!! which i love!!! can’t wait… just hope the deer stay away.
Glad the girls are doing well. it is something that has to be done, but geez, it is awful to see them so drugged out and sad… by the time u get this maybe it will all be over and they will back to their boisterous selves… 🙂
Lovely to hear from you my friend. Your conditions are so similar to ours. I will have to look up lemon cucumbers, sounds delicious. I am going to have to check with the vet when we can let them loose.
