Eh! I can’t hear you, eh, eh!

Have you ever heard of ear candling? Basically it is a natural method of cleaning out your ears.  You insert a candle made of pure bees wax into the ear canal & light it.  The vacuum created  inside the candle will not only remove excess wax but also any flies or bugs stuck in the ear canal.

There are certain procedures to follow but it is time to extinguish the candle when down to two inches. Colin always has 2 bowls of water standing by as well as a fire extinguisher…just in case!  At this point it is always fun to cut open the remaining piece of candle and see how much wax was extracted.  I do this a minimum of every 2 months and I am always surprised at how much wax is extracted each time.

tne last inch or so of candle and the huge amount of wax removeOI

See the amount of wax withdrawn per ear….measured just above the ruler.

I do wonder if everyone who has a hearing aid really needs it  I hear so much better after a candling. The good news is that Mary, our Mazatlan massage therapist will be offering ear candling this next winter season.  I highly recommend it!

I think I got this. I am going to have Gene ear candle my ears today. I put your website on my bookmarks so I can log in. I think, with Gene’s help, this what I needed to do. Let me know if you get this. Then i will know that I did something right. Jane

What a great blog Contessa! I have candled my kids ears (and myself) for years now..on top of the “cleaning” effect, the calming effect is superb.

The fact of it is, I have seen things come out of the ear that are in direct reflection of the persons working environment…

As with anything there is controversy – but my motto is “If it feels good and doesn’t hurt anybody else..DO It!”

    Thanks for thinking of me!
