Que Pasa

In real time….

~ I took the plunge and went into Mazatlan and the Golden Zone. I had a hair appointment for today. Brave girl to be the first on the lancha, a pulmonia and sit in one room for three hours. I was masked the entire time ( my hair was coloured and cut with a mask on ) and most others were as well. I was surprised to see three Americans ( you can tell ) not wearing masks at Gaby’s despite the sign insisting that you do so. The staff wore masks and sanitized each chair that was used.  There were some unexpected delays and my time there was doubled. Towards the end I kept looking at my watch. I felt the need to leave the room, began to feel closed in. I had hoped to perhaps find a place for a quick margarita ( have not had one yet ) and something to eat. Once out the door I just wanted to get back to the Isla. Of course my pulmonia driver did not have a mask on and this one had a full windshield. I was on a traditional pulomonia earlier in the morning and he had actually had rigged a partition in between the front and the back 😎 .

The photo tells all, my morning driver did have a full windshield as well as a partition and a mask. Cost to the GZ now 150 pesos, double what I paid in 2019. Same price back.

The malecon Christmas decor appears to be decorations and gift boxes.

They must be very pretty at night. Carol perhaps you can get some photos as I will never get there at night this year.

~ I was ever so happy to get on the lancha heading to the Isla. I felt so much freer and clean. Colin and the girls picked me up, apparently they had spent the entire time that I was away sitting at the front gate waiting for me and never barked once. So happy to be back home with the fresh air and quiet. Mazatlan appears to be on a major construction binge.

Just seeing the pelicans at the embarcadero was relaxing. Two out of three better than nothing.

Taken last Tuesday. Carlie is so very relaxed. Before beach walk.

Day two beach walk last Tuesday, Colin felt confident to let them go free based on how well they behaved the first walk. They were even wilder and just ran back and forth non stop. When we finally corralled them and picked them up to go back to the RV they started making a high pitched excited  bark – never heard these two make this noise. It is beyond excited and seems to be expressing the need to be free and running. It was like they were in a different world and it was difficult to communicate with them.

After a brief rest they just kept wrestling.

and rolling and rolling.

So entertaining.

Back to real time and our sunset this evening. I sat for an hour and slept for half that time – sure sign of relaxation. This is our real view from our chairs. Yes we have that screen to look thru unless we stand up and move to the left ( which I usually do ). The post holds power to the security light. Happy to have that. Then our palm tree.

By getting up off my chair I can create this lovely photo for my special friend Sandy ( so happy that you and Rex were able to spend some time here with us a few years ago ) and of course for myself and you all. Life is wonderful here on the Isla.

Colin surprised me today ( while I was away ) by putting up our inside Christmas coloured  lights and adding more of the white fairy lights outside. He also found another 30 bottles of wine in the basement.  At Gaby’s earlier everyone was wishing everyone Feliz Navidad as they left.  That kindled a spark inside of me and then to come home to all the lights, well I guess you could say that I am feeling so much better about Christmas. Time to turn on my French Christmas carols at full volume 😉

Bonus post for you, two days in one.  Love all the comments. Message received, more puppies on the beach shots. Coming soon.

I bet the pups loved running on the beach and being free! Those sunsets are awesome, one cannot help but relax seeing those.

Thank you for the beautiful sunset photos – wow, what a lift to my spirit, thank you again. Love the photos of the girls and especially of one of them running on the beach with at least three feet off the ground! Thank you for sharing.

I LOVE the picture of the beach run! 😉
    Sunset too!
Your girls are going to stay in such good shape this winter. We just got a huge snow fall last night; Sequoia would almost disappear in the amount that fell. She wants to be outside so badly but gets cold paws after a while, so I have to go pick her up.
How did your hair turn out?

Yes the kids will remain thin, maybe I might get that way as well. Oh I can just see the triplet in the snow. I think these two would live it as well. My hair was perfect. She followed the ‘recipe’ from my Kelowna salon.

Ha, a sip or two, you know me better than that. I was surprised to realize that we only need another 1/2 day and we are totally done.
