Good travel day
We drove our planned 260 miles to Ely, Nevada. Lovely sunny day but a cool wind. The motor home ran perfectly and the girls were happy to be somewhere that had new sniffs.
This was a much needed stop, I needed to wash my hair and theRV tanks needed to be dumped and the fresh water filled.
It was also the day for me to fill in our inline form with Arrive CAN. It okie me an hour, easy but not really. It did not want to recognize our land crossing border. It did on the third try. Then it decided that Colin was not fully vaccinated. He received his second vaccine in June of 2021 but the computer said that it was less than 14 days before our arrival. Again I had to redo the entire form a few more times. I was not making any errors as I had Colin checking everything I input. Finally it was complete. I have to say that I was surprised that we had to actually choose the time we presented ourselves at the border. So are we supposed to speed incase we are late or hold back in case we are early?
I am very tired, I went to bed Tuesday at 9:30PM and at 8:30PM last night. In all the years we have RVed, we started in 1999, I have never slept while Colin drove. We have rule that we both have to keep our eyes on the road. Today I could not keep my eyes open and I have already had a nap.Just finishing up a baked frozen lasagna. Tonight is the last night that we will have electricity at night unless we pull out the generator. I have planned meals accordingly. We have our Mr Buddy to keep us warm.
These are not my usual travel blogs, no photos, no stories but at least you know we made it. Still looking for my energy.
It is suppose to freeze here tonight. That will be a real surprise for the girls in the morning. The next two days are long driving days, approximately 450 miles per day. Not looking forward to that. But it is what we do, really no where to stop and why make the journey longer. Might as well be sitting in our driving chairs than on the sofa. Actually they are much more comfortable.
No proofing tonight, off to bed.

Glad things are looking up for you two. Tomorrow should be great weather for driving across Idaho but Saturday is going to cool down again. I was going to tell you to honk when going through Boise but thought better of it. You don’t want to take any chances with something else happening. Safe travels
That had to feel good to get a good travel day behind you! The poor girls are going to be in a shock after being used to that warm weather. You are going to have to put their sweaters back on them!
Yahoo for a good travel day! Safe travels and see you home here soon!
Thank you for up dating all of us – so good to hear the first day back on the road was successful after all the repairs. Growing up my mom gave all us kids (there were five of us) a one time Spring tonic! None of us liked taking that big spoon full of stuff and wish I knew what it was as I would order a spoonful for you. We were a lively bunch. You brought back a good memory for me, thank you.
so glad you had a good day with no problems – except the darn paperwork. hope your border crossing is quick and the rest of your trip uneventful. Drive safe.
Glad to hear you are finally on your way. Sorry to hear you are still so tired but not surprised by that. I often napped while Dave drove; something about the hum of the road would just put me to sleep even when I’d had a good night’s rest. I hope your border crossing goes well.
WooHoo! So happy and relieved that you are back on the road, making real progress with a well-running motorhome and getting closer to home with every mile. We, too, have the same rule about not sleeping, but considering the stress you’ve been under it is no wonder that you are exhausted. Hope the rest of the trip –and the border crossing — is smooth and uneventful.
The ArriveCAN time is an estimate and just so you know they didn’t ask us, or others we know who crossed ahead of us, to see the QR code … the information will show up on their computer so they probably only need it if there is a problem.
Hang in there Contessa! … and Colin!
I am so glad to hear that things are finally working out for you! It is a great relief. I have a question for you regarding your Mr. Buddy heater but it can wait until you get home and settled down.
