It was Gramma Katie’s time

We last saw Gramma Katie on July 14th. She was not well which is why we made a quick visit to the coast. Katie went into hospice on July 29th and passed yesterday, August 6th just after 4AM. She will be forever loved by us and we miss her more than words can convey. So many memories.

July 22, 2010. We were staying in Point Roberts, Washington for a few days when Katie and Louie surprised Colin in his birthday. It was a double celebration as Katie’s birthday was the next day.

April 2011. Katie loved to feed humans and animals alike.

April 17, 2012. Our first stop back in Canada was to see Katie and Louie. Katie and I really enjoyed our wine.

Every time we got together ( whether here in Kelowna or at their home in Tsawwassen ) wonderful memories were created. Taken 2013.

With Carmeh and Carlie in 2016.

Katie exuded love. Not sure when this was taken.

July 26, 2021, we visited Katie and Louie to introduce them to our twins who were 6.5 months at the time. Katie was so delighted to see Carlie and Ceila, that smile never left her face.

Photos taken during our July 2021 visit. This collage is the back page of our 2022 calendar.

We took many photos during this last visit ( July 14, 2022 ) with Gramma Katie. You can click on the link at the top of this post if you wish to see some of them.

This visit was so bittersweet.

Gramma Katie turned 90 on July 23rd.

Two weeks latter she left this world. However we know that she is up in the heavens surrounded by all those who have loved her over the years and of course by hundreds upon hundreds of animals that she has cared for. Gramma Katie you will always be in our hearts and minds.
