Mazatlan & Cruise Ships!!

They are back!

Well they are returning very very moderately.   Alonso Gárate Manjarrez, Manager of Tropical Tours announced on March 10th, that the Zaandam, a Holland America cruise ship  will make 10 stops here in Mazatlan between November 2012 and April 2013.  Colin and I have sailed on the Zaandam a few times, it has great dance floors:)  Ten stops is not much but it is a start and once one company returns, hopefully so will the rest.

We did have a cruise ship arrival on December 15th but as you can see it was towed in. In fact it is still here under repair.

Ocean Star Pacific was disabled in April 2011 due to a generator fire and was refitted in Salinas Cruz. The ship then began this itinerary, it did stop in Mazatlan on July 25/11. The ship developed further problems with A/C and heating and was towed here for repairs where it still sits. What will be it's fate?

Have a good one……

Woo hoo! It’s a start, anyway. I saw that ship the day we went to the isla to see you and wondered what it was there for.

Love your Maxine!! Might steal it for Facebook.

  2. So happy to hear that cruise ships are heading back to Mazatlan. Love the comic strip!
