New route, new RV Park….
We took our time getting going Wednesday morning but still managed to be on the road by 9:30AM. It was a good thing.
We left from Pilot Knob, just a few miles West of Yuma and ended up about 5 miles East of Ramona, California. It didn’t take us long to realize that once past El Centro this was a new route to us. I guess we always headed North at El Centro to the Salton Sea.
About 6 miles into the journey we were greeted by yet another Border Patrol.
Then we were climbing and climbing up to an elevation of 4140 feet. The RV engine got warm so we had to down shift. There were barrels of water for radiators all along the route.
We kept on going up and down, around a curve and then around another curve and finally five miles East of Ramona on HWY 78 we arrived at Ramona Canyon RV Resort, a Western Horizons Membership Park. We had joined WHR many years ago but have used them less than 4 nights to date. As we were in the area we thought we better make use of our membership.
The girls are happy to be here, the hunting feature today is chipmunks. Apparently there are rabbits in the area but we haven’t seen any yet, thank goodness!!! I saw some beautiful red crowned woodpeckers on one of our walks.
We are also happy to be here and settled in for the next four nights. Thursday morning our adventure continues with a visit to the Egoscue Clinic in San Diego.

I really like that your motorhome has a mid entry door. The front door on diesel pushers is the one feature I’m really not keen on. A mid-entry door means no traipsing through the whole coach to get to the kitchen (for example)
I can’t quite see what make it is. Maybe you’ve linked to it somewhere on your site, but it’s not jumping out in front of me. Have you ever done a “feature” on the RV? Is there a link? Some of us are nosey.
Bob……just for you, we will do a feature blog…when we get back to Canada!!n We love our RV also! We would never have a front doo model for the very reason you stated. I can’t see us hauling all our stuff thru the RV when loading.
Connie….wish you were here for the weekend!
Elaine…too many inspections but the US is very concerned about the Mexicans come over the border.
Contessa, I’m eating this up – I mean the area you’re in – my cousins live in San Diego and my fav aunt lives north of there in Hemet. When I saw it on your map and the desert pics, it brought back the best memories of when we visited them. I’m interested in your visit to the clinic in SD. Enjoy you trip home! Best Wishes Always! Connie
