A month ago today we left our home at Tres Amigos RV Park on Stone Island in Mazatlan.

A week ago today we sold our home here in Holiday Park Resort in Kelowna.

So much has happened in the past month from having our big rig towed due to a breakdown on I5  to having a voting contest to help chose the siding colour for our new home.

For the most part it is a very happy time for us even with the deadlines re getting the construction going, but there have been a few sad incidents.  April was a very sad month with three friends passing, suddenly and quickly.

Judy our friend and winter RV neighbour passed while driving her RV back to Canada. I had written of this in April. Judy loved red so these tulips from my garden are for her. Judy was a day younger than Colin.

We had only been home a few days when we heard that our friend Dwight who lives in Mazatlan died suddenly of a heart failure on April 22nd. He was only 58. I will always remember our last visit with him on the beach of the Isla. He was so full of life and happy.

Then yesterday, I was scanning the small local newspaper and read that yet another friend had passed.  Ken Manly who left Holiday Park about a year ago suddenly passed on April 3rd.  He was only 66.  I love the last line in his obituary.  Ken’s on an island now, somewhere in Margaritaville.

Three friends, 66, 61 and 58 all dying within 19 days of each other, all heart related.  What does this mean?  Are you taking care of your body?  Are you eating properly?  Please love each other, hug each other, call a friend, a family member today.  Life is short.  Make every hour count.

Fols that i

You are going through a lot of stress right now so be sure to take good care of yourself. Hugging puppies is an absolutely great stress reliever!

Longdog….Colleen you are so right, hugging those fur kids are so relaxing. Love getting the nose kisses. The dogs are feeling our stress and need our hugs also.

  2. Sorry for your losses.
You are so right, life passes us by so quickly and usually ends so suddenly, we do need make the most of the time that we have here.

Oh, Contessa, your post today is so timely! We too lost two dear friends within the past week – both women – one 72 and the one 65 is a relative, too. They were never sickly, just recently had health problems. This winter hubby lost a dear friend, 66, in a logging accident. It sure makes you think when friends your age are dying. You are so right – life is short – make every hour count!
