Que pasa!!
Never got around to posting yesterday, we were trying to put things in order both inside and outside the RV. Had some chats with the people who bought our house. They are so happy here, even with the cool damp weather, big smiles on their faces. They do live in Alberta so will be here off and on over the summer months before they move here full time. Seeing them in my ‘old yard and home’ is not bothering me at all.
I got a few emails and comments on the blog regarding how we were going to fit both the house and the RV on the beach site. We aren’t. We will live here till the house is delivered towards the end of July or early August and it will be like a holiday….well that is my plan at least!! The day before the house arrives we will move about 1/2 block away onto a private rental RV site, where I will pay a monthly amount till we leave for Mexico in October. Once the house is on the beach site, the add a room will be built and when that is done we will have the flooring put down, some more painting done, then we can start to move stuff in. I don’t anticipate it being ready for occupancy till sometime in September, so by the time we get things unpacked it will be early October hence the reason for staying in the RV till next April. At that time the RV will go into the storage yard here at Holiday Park Resort. We have made certain that the RV will fit in front here on the beach site so we can load and unload.
I wasn’t feeling well last night nor this morning, might have been something I ate. Colin has way too much energy & is spending the afternoon washing the RV. Yesterday he washed both cars and the golf cart plus did a lot of work in the yard. Mind you this is the first time anything has been washed since we got back from Mexico. Next I hope to catch up with all my emails, hang in there folks, I will get back to you soon.
Did you read in the news that us Canucks can now bring more across the US/Canada border? New Federal legislation will allow a Canadian to increase their return of purchased goods from $50.00 after 24 hours in the US to $200.00. BIg change, eh! Those away from 2 to 7 days can bring in $800.00 worth of goods, double from $400.00. For those of us away over 7 days it only goes up from $750.00 to $800.00. The increases went into effect on June 1st. Now we are hearing stories that people are going to start heading south to the US for weekends vacations rather than visit somewhere in Canada thus taking money out of Canada. Time will tell, the way our dollar is right now I’d rather stay in Canada.

You have convinced me. I am NEVER going to move again! We have moved seven times in our lives, five of those where we have changed cities (thanks to working for BC Tel). It was bad enough when we were a lot younger but now? No thanks?
Croft….I agree….just moving accoss the road is as much work as moving 60 miles. Done moving.
Elaine….I really hope that next year our life will settle down…it has to! Thanks for asking….Mom is hanging in, the cortisone shots helped a very little. Nothing can be done for bone on bone shoulders.
Marty….I’m tires too…need a holiday!
George….we’ll be doing that quick move in a few months twill be easier for sure.
Susie…..yes I will fly out to Edmonton to see her soon. We were all going to go in the RV but too much happening here.
well its plain to see your not slowing down any 🙂 good for you…!!!! you always have so much on the go..hope your mom is doing well..hugs
Makes me tired just watching you two!
I have moved 21 times, 11 of them renovating houses. So now when we move we just drive our house to another location, these moves are much easier.
Moving is alot of work, especially when your down sizing, way too much stuff !! Yes what is the update of your mom, are you going to visit her before Mexico?? Yes Colin&Roger have alot of energy, keeps them fit !!
