Why did the turtle cross the road?
What was he doing on the road in the first place?
This is a Western painted turtle who lives in our lake. He must be lost...first thing I did was stop the car and shoo it off the road for safety. Maybe I should have picked it up and brought it to the lake?
These turtles are endangered in some areas and here on Duck Lake they are considered threatened. Maybe the high lake level got him roaming.
Yesterday was day 2 of the cement guys working their 'magic'. He is spraying something to supposedly clean up our slate slabs. It didn't work! It did kill the grass where he over sprayed.
Nor did their day 1 of power washing remove the rust off our driveway. Colin and I took turns and used a variety of products and did it ourselves! If we had more time we would simply do everything ourselves instead of hiring people. Maybe next year.
Today promises to bring lots more to do’s to be done. We did get to see the house yesterday…..it looks wonderful and is going to be fantastic. Also interviewed a builder for the add a room portion which will be built in August once the house is delivered to this site.
Colin took this photo yesterday morning……and yesterday early evening I even found 10 minutes to just sit and relax and enjoying the ducks on the lake.
