Siberia smoke & other stuff !

So much is happening that we don't even have time to do take out dinner!!  Now that has to be busy.  Lots happening with the house, hard to believe it will be here in 3 weeks.

No not my paint color but the spray foam insulation.

They have started putting up the siding and I love the color we chose.  We are also in the process of designing our 10' X 44' add a room, often called a Florida room, or an Arizona room and here called an Okanagan room.  This will give us an overall home size of 22' X 44' when all put together.  Why you ask can't we just build it that way from the beginning….well it's just the rules of where we live.  We don't mind as we know the final product will be outstanding.  We are pushing those rules to the very limits and all three contractors involved are doing new things and learning a lot.  Guess that means we are too as we are the ones coming up with the ideas, inventing new ways of wiring the lights in both sections, plus, plus, plus!

Almost ready for painting, then the kitchen cupboards go in, the appliances and then things move even faster.

We have lots to be thankful for….we have the much desired sun and heat with daily temps at about 38C.  Thank goodness the inverter has been replaced and we can run our A/C.  An RV in the heat is like a hot hot oven and we don't have the cooling ocean breezes like we do on the Isla in Mexico.  Plus did you know that 2 desktop computers sitting side by side and being 'on' all the time generate a huge amount of heat?

My business is doing so very well that I have doubled my input in only 40 days.  Even I can't believe that I have made $2053.00 profit in such a short time.  Then this morning I realized that I am now earning over $102.00 daily.  I see margaritas and lots of shopping in my future this winter:)

We have 2 sets of friends visiting Holiday Park this week so have been able to get a quick visit in with each couple.  Colin is doing very early in the day and very late sunset type shots right now.  He is trying to get to Vancouver to do a full day of aerial photography but the smoke/smog is really bad.  Not only are we getting smoke from Colorado but now from Siberia.

Hard to believe but we can see it!!

Mother Nature is very powerful.

Here are a few photos of the rare pyrocumulus “fire clouds”.

So when a reader from Vienna tells me he is getting dust from the Sahara, I just have to believe him.

George….the air quality is affecting Colin’s photography!! Not so good.

Marty…my sister use to have a purple bedroom….this fire situation is sad for the entire world.

Longdog….I think it will be great…you do realize that the window seat is for the doxies.

Connie….that is nice to hear. Plus we do have a lot of input and are welcome on site to check things out.

Bob….hope so also…..first the rain and now this…no way to make $.

Our smoke is mostly coming from Idaho. It sure makes for some pretty sunsets, but oh my, the damage! And now fires are popping up rapidly in Park county, just 40 miles east of here-so far 30 families have been evacuated. The whole state is on red flag alert.

I agree-I kind of like the purple insulation. A friend painted her bedroom a deep purple and it looks really classy.

Looks like your new home is going to be great.

Your new home is looking good! We have relatives who work for a company back in PA that build similiar type homes. They tell us that their codes and standards are higher than many stickbuilt type homes. Hope that smoke problem clears up by the time your new home arrives!

On the one hand it’s amazing, but on the other it can be a little troublesome how something so far away can show up on your doorstep.
I’m not sure which is worse, smoke or dust.
It’s cleared up here nicely though, thankfully.
Hopefully your smoke situation does the same.
