Sad News

Sad but not devastating. Colin took Carmeh into the vet today as we have been noticing a pus like substance coming out of her right eye.  This happened once while still in Mexico but of late we are noticing it several times per day.  Our vet spent a long time checking Carmeh out, in fact about $242.66 worth of tests and time.  Diagnosis, small tumor just inside the upper eye lid.  She will need surgery  fairly soon to remove this ever growing growth.  The cost won't be an issue but having her wear a collar 24 hours per day post surgery will be stressful most especially as this is coming close to house delivery time.  Hope to get a date for surgery later today.

This is Carmeh hiding in the RV bathroom during a recent thunderstorm. We covered her shaking body with pillows to make her feel protected. You can see her eye just under the red pillow.

But just like after a storm she will come out shining and happy again.

Carmeh really wanted to open Colin's birthday gift! Not sure if she can figure out how to use a new pair of binoculars.

The bathroom in the new place! Lots of work to do in the next 8 days!!!

Poor baby! But at least you found out what the problem is. Are you getting excited about the house?

Marty……better here than Mexico! Yes are getting very excited.

Elaine….me too….the confusion afterwards. The worst will be wearing the collar.

      Sandie….thanks…

Susie…but I would rather this surgery done by our vet and here in Canada no matter the cost.

George….it’s the 10 days in a collar that worries me.

      Longdog…she thanks her cousins!

  7. So sorry to hear about Carmeh. I sure hope the surgery goes well and the post op too! I remember how hard it was to get Whiskey to wear one of those collars, we ended up just giving up on it.

Kevin….that is our greatest fear, is that dreaded collar….she never sits still and the few times she has had to wear one she gets frantic trying to rip it off. We can’t give up because is is here eye and it has to remain untouched till healed. Sigh!!!!!!!!!
