This next photo was taken September 19th.
And these final shots were taken this evening. Wow, just wow!
It was a beautiful start to the sunset.
Then the sky quickly began to change.
Colin took these last six photos….the colors are amazing.
I don’t recall ever seeing so much color, especially the deep reds in a sunset before.
As it got darker the cloud formation changed yet again.
Then this happened.
It was unreal – a first for both of us. What is this strange dark tunnel from heaven to the deep sea? UFO? End of the world? It was bizarre and unsettling.
But we do have a Category 5 hurricane offshore and it is coming closer to us. It is not expected to make landfall but for certain we will have lots of rain and high waves.
Hurricane Polo ( a Cat 5 tonight ) will pass Mazatlan as a Category 4 on Friday. Meanwhile Tropical Storm Odalys ( on the left ) Odalys is expected to increase to l Category Hurricane 1 by Wednesday morning and will likely pass Mazatlan as a Category 1. Between them we are expecting high winds, heavy rains and towering 10 to 32 foot waves.

Wow, such beautiful sunset photos and you know I love seeing these! That last one almost looks like a “funnel cloud” coming down from the heavens.
The sunset pictutes are amazing. Just gorgeous. I’ve been watching the weather and your hurricane. Glad you guys are safe and i will be checking in every day.
