Still working on catching my breath. I feel like I have been on a giant roller coaster these past ten days or so. We have had 2 or 3 ( I’m losing track although I think we have had 13 official showings and untold spontaneous showings ) but still no buyer. We remain very sad that the lady who had to cancel the purchase of our home is not buying it. She was perfect for this place. But life has suddenly taken her in a different direction. Deep down I hope that within the next year she will come back to our home.
Departure day is October 5th and that is whether we sell or not. I knew the date but just now adding it up on the calendar its shows that that is only 37 days 🙄 Will we be ready? Colin will for certain, as will the RV and the Jeep. The last thing needed for the RV is to check the freon in the AC system and add if needed. He is doing that this morning and the same with the Jeep on Friday. Mechanically we are ready to go.
Emotionally we are more than ready to go. We really don’t want to have to come back here next year to sell. So keep your fingers crossed and keep sending out positive thoughts. Anything is possible in the next month. If the house sells we have some fun and exciting plans for next year. If not we will keep on track with our current wonderful plans. The world is in upheaval and there is no way to know what the future will bring. Best to live in the here and now and enjoy everyday to the fullest.
I keep selling things on FB Marketplace and elsewhere. Yesterday we sold our rosewood credenza. That was a bit difficult to let go of. So we play a little game between us. If we don’t sell the house and come back here can we live without whatever item that I am selling. Little things are easy to part with, not so favourite pieces of furniture we have had for over 35 years. At this point we prefer to keep as much as we can to stage the house for selling but this particular sale will allow us to pull back the white leather sectional and open up that space a bit more.
Physically I am a mess. My eyes are not cooperating and I am unable to tell the time on my watch, use my iPhone, write or read nor use the computer. Never mind driving – I can’t even walk on my own. I am living in a fog. I ended up with a small corneal abrasion after the second surgery but that pain has finally passed. With so much to do before we leave and so little time I am very frustrated. I saw the eye surgeon last Thursday and he said it does take a full 6 -8 weeks to heal. I see him again tomorrow.
Even the dentist is conspiring against me. I haven’t had a cavity in over 5 years and yesterday the dental hygienist found 3 tiny tiny ones 😮 I know it could be much much worse. But snow on the Coquilhalla and at the Big White ski mountain yesterday!! Yes yesterday was still August. I guess that is the sign of the times we live in.
I had 2 cavities this time too!!! What the heck? Isn’t there some point u get over or outgrow that?
I can’t even think about getting rid of any of my “stuff” and I really don’t have anything of any worth, just memories….
Take care and God Bless
We are still out here following and wishing you the very best!!!!!!
So enjoyed the “Apple” computer joke and shared it on my page to be enjoyed by many others. Hope your eyes have cleared up and you can now see better then ever. I did not experience any of the things you have and it was a great experience for me but we are all made different therefore different experiences. In about 5 weeks you will be on your way to Mexico and wow I wish you and Colin the best trip ever.
Your desk is awesome and should sell fast at that price.
I’m so sorry your eyes aren’t healing as expected. Fingers crossed you wake up, one day soon, with perfect vision.
Your babies feel your stress and emulate it. Easy to say don’t stress it will all work out, but a little impossible to do when things are so topsy-turvy.
Hang in the, better days are coming soon xo
Could that have been your RV I saw for sale and wow the price I thought I read was way off. Perhaps a typo? With what will you replace it?
Contessa, perhaps your eyes are ok & is your brain that can’t interprete the new signals .
Contessa, wishing your eyes have had some improvement. October is just around the block,YAYYYY. 💃
We’re having a terrible hola de calor in Southern California…Bad, mucho ugly!!
Hola Contessa, que pasa ? Estas super ocupada o los ojos no te responden ? October 5 is just around the corner, hope everything runs smoothly & you 4 amigos have an excellent trip back South. Virtual huggies to the whole bunch.🐥
Contessa, hope all things are improving for you and Colin. When you cross the border into the US, you will notice a few good things. Your fuel prices for the motorhome are dropping like crazy and continuing to do so. As of yesterday, the lowest price of a regular gallon of gas is $2.09 US in Katy, Texas. Your diesel has been dropping accordingly across the US and is predicted to continue.
The second thing, Pfizer is gushing with fresh updated Covid and flu vaccines; the Walgreen Pharmacies seem to be getting most of the batches; Beach and I went yesterday to get both the flu and Covid with no waiting. Yes, we still have Covid, but not the lethal kind. However, if anyone has a low immune system, their doctor highly recommends that they take both Covid and flu vaccines.

Hi Contessa and Colin, I hope you, Contessa, are able to read this comment with perfect vision. Also hoping you sold the house, at least the furniture you are willing to let go at this time. In any event you are probably very busy to get ready for your departure to Mexico. We are so curious what is happening in your life. Sending you best wishes and a stress free departure. Our love 💕 to your little doggies!
October is fast approaching. Please just a wee post telling us your eyes are doing well and you are on track to leave for Mexico. Thanks!
