Right now, this moment, real time update!!

Written at 8PM Thursday the 17th. Then spent two hours trying to post this. No go.

We have been in Las Vegas since last Saturday the 12th of October.  Much to my chagrin the internet is dead, dead, dead😵 We left the dealership about noon on the 11th and have had a few challenges. Long story short we need a new alternator. Finally got that today ( $$$$$ ) and then a no show from the RV tech. Hopefully tomorrow.

We LOVE our new home but it has been a difficult adjustment. Still sorting out where to put stuff. The dealership was very good to us and did 2 days worth of fixes at our request. But who knew we would have a 50AMP shore power issue and an alternator issue.
Our 2009 Signature ( Ralph Lauren ) Monaco only was driven 24,000 miles. It had a much larger ( too big ) engine and that was downsized to a 550 HP 2 years ago  and only has 3,000 miles on the new engine. We can tell that this RV was well cared for ( by a Boeing pilot ), lived in but not driven much. Parked in Florida mostly. So the few issues we are dealing with are from not being used enough.
We are dealing with that situation as well as still moving in, finalizing our Montana LLC and all that that entails ie tax number and to register with the department of crime, EIN number and so on.
Some nights we work putting things away until midnight and a few nights I go to bed at 7 or 8 PM. We are being pushed by having to be in Mazatlan, Mexico to renew our Temporal Visa by month end. Otherwise we would need to start all over and it would be costly. I and a few friends have been working behind the scenes to try and figure out a way for us to extend our deadline, thus far it is not working. We need to physically be in Mazatlan.
Needless to say we are concerned about driving from Nogales to Mazatlan. Once day things safe but not so safe the next day.
So hopefully this helps explain whyI have not been posting. I have lost 4 pounds just from not eating – no time. Most of my day has been taken up either looking for a certain alternator part, I finally paid an extra $200.00 in shipping to get it here or putting out this fire or ordering this  ( garbage cans, a clock, towels hangers and so and so one ) or that and of course unloading and storing things.  Without that part we may not even get as far as Tucson.
I do intend to do a write up of our trip with the U Haul but in days to come……
Hope this gives you an idea of the intensity of our days. We have had no free time nor relaxation. Certainly not what I expected.
We have not had a moment to take photos so please click here to see our new home.
For certain real time update NOW at 9AM Friday the 18th
At first it looked like I had lost the above but clicked around enough to find this.
I just want to add that this has been the most frustrating two weeks of my life. Can you believe that we left our Kelowna home two weeks ago today? The fact that I have no clear eyesight has made navigating extremely frustrating what with changing from sunglasses to readers to distance vision spectacles all hang around my neck on their own chain. I need 12 days to get progressives which I will do in Mazatlan. Then going into a store I am dizzy and disorientated because things are fuzzy. Frightening to say the least 😥 Plus I misjudged my distance here in the RV and almost fell but only succeeded in twisting my left knee yet again ( it was only 3 weeks ago that I had my fall in the bathtub ). That pain is still with me and paired with low sight I am miserable and feel no joy. I love our RV but it has been a good deal of physical work which is not over. I truly hope that within the next few months my body will normalize. I believe that once we get to the Isla things will start to stabilize emotionally, mentally and physically. I have never felt so low in all my life. The garage sales, the selling of everything, the packing up has been too much for me. My body needs to catchup with my new life ahead.

  1. Thank goodness you are alive😁 You’ve both had quite the life’s journey over all of this. It would sure help if you could see. I can see how a mostly stationary motorhome would need some repairs for the road. Hopefully you’ll get that all sorted out. I understand your physical and mental exhaustion. We just can’t take what we could when we were young. Luckily you have Colin at your side. Things will get better😊❤️

    Nice bus!!

  4. I’m so sorry you are going through all this. I did shed a tear, as it brought me back to our major downsizing. I do feel the pain of letting go.

Make sure you don’t neglect your eyes. Drops are vital!

Unfortunately , your stress will likely continue until you are safely parked in your beautiful spot. Try focusing on the lovely views and finally being able to do nothing!

    Big hugs to you both.

Omg Contessa, the Monaco is beautiful, tag axle will make Colin’s driving so much easier for him. I certainly miss those days my friend. Sorry to hear all the stress you’re experiencing but I’m sure the sun will shine on you in Mazatlán and you will be able to sit back with a lovely glass of vino blanco and say cheers we did it 🩷 we are leaving for LDM December 28 I’m very excited once again and hopefully I’ll be making a bus trip to your area within the 4 months. Take good care and relax my dear friend

That is one very impressive motor home. Good luck with the rest of your journey. Hopefully in a couple of months you will at least be able to look back on these days and smile and know you made it through the storm. Vern , Boise

I’ve been following you again only recently after finding your contact info lost to me but finding it again in an old laptop. I think with fondness of our past friendship and the fun times.
Be well, be safe, and remain optimistic and you’ll be fine.
    Until next time, CHEERS!
    Hugh ;o)

Sending you and Colin a giant hug. You have both been through a lot. You are SO close to your goal. We are all cheering for you!!

  10. Dee Tillotson says:

Contessa, I know very little about these type of Visas. But can Colin fly in quickly and fly out to and from Mazatlan to complete the Visa paperwork for both of you to save a lot of time? Or do both of you have to appear in person? Someone has to stay back and take care of the puppies, and the pressure will be off.

You are going to be so comfy in your beautiful new home. Once you are there and all set up, you can relax and become one again.
    Love reading your blog.

That is a beautiful coach. I wonder how it will hold up with the coach not being moved much and the diesel engine not being used, and sitting along the salt water coast? I’ve been confused about your move, but I think I understand now after this post. I didn’t realize Colin was driving a UHaul to Montana. Was he pulling a trailer with the car attached, or were you driving a car behind him? I had so many questions as I tried to visual your move. Anyway, thanks for the update. I will be following you to Mexico as I have for years, but once you get settled in Mexico I will be leaving your blog. I have enjoyed your travels.

  13. Chuck Escalante says:

Beautiful coach! You’ll have to get the bugs out since it sat so much. Just hope they are little ones.
It was time to send the Rexhall to pasture.
When you get to Mexico you will be able to chill and relax.
    Safe travels my friends.

  14. DAVID EVANS says:

I sure hope everything works out and you find that missing Duck.
I somehow missed where the old motorhome went and how you ended up with the new one,(Nice Ride).
When you get settled I hope I can get filled in on that part of your adventures.
    Best to You-all.

  16. Glad you found the time to post. We were wondering if everything was well after your 1st posting. Your new RV is sure a show piece and looks very elegant. I am sure you are working on getting all issues fixed in time. As was mentioned before, if all fails, is it possible to drive to Mexico with your Jeep, stay in a Hotel etc. to get the paperwork done and drive back to get the motorhome when repaired? But you probably explored that option already. Best wishes!

  17. SandyM says:

Beautiful new to you RV; goodness it is large and looks to have everything you could want. I hope you will be on the road soon and in a short time home on the Isla. Great adventures await you.

  18. Deb says:

I am glad to hear that you folks are well, or at least still functioning. Like a few of the others, I’m wondering if there is a way to be where you need to be in Mexico for a couple of days, return to the USA and complete the repairs/moving in process and then taking your home there. Flying sounds like the easiest possibility. Good luck! Take care.
